^^ Spurcycle is really a beauty. My only regret was when they came out with a Limited Edition Chris King Spurcycle Bell, I did not get one since I just got a silver a few weeks back (I already have the black for my other bike) . They only made 300.

@ARPRINCE - Yes, it's an impressive bell and I love the compact design but big sound from it. Integrates very well with my bike too. That limited edition one looks lovely too! I have a Knog Oi on my cruiser and it's a stunning looking bell but the sound is very weak. The Spurcycle is expensive but the level of engineering and quality of the bell is well worth it. I'm hoping it's a tough bell and will last many years.

My most recent purchase is a men's shaving bag. Because the interior is plastic lined (hopefully waterproof), I can lighten my backpack by putting items into it (quite a lot surprisingly), and it's small enough to fit in my second most recent purchase....a basket.

Topeak Mini Morph G pump.


Disappointed by its performance though. Took a lot of effort to get to what the internal gauge shows as 60psi -- I felt it was noticeably easier to get 60psi with my Topeak Hybrid Rocket HP pump, even though the Mini Morph allowed me to put more weight into it.


Also there is a bit of "imbalance", for a lack of better word, when used on deep section wheels with long valve stems (mine are 44mm deep, valve is 86mm long). As in, you can't get the pump to stay upright when pumping (well, you can, but it wants to stay tilted because the hose is not flexible enough to bend for that amount of height).

That sucks. I'm a big fan of the (presumably slightly larger) Road Morph G and I find it takes exactly 100 strokes -- which usually comes out to about 90 seconds time-wise -- to get a 23c road tire up to 90-100psi.

I'd started noticing that riding in the drops or in an aero position on the Casati was feeling sort of cramped, and had been thinking of getting new, larger bars for a deeper drop as well as a longer reach, but my friend the shop owner didn't encourage that and suggested I just get a longer stem instead. Frankly I wanted more traditional bars for aesthetic reasons as well, and I wanted them white too, but that was looking most unlikely. I asked him if he had a 120 mm stem to just try out, so he fit a generic one just for size; we'd look for one I liked in that size if it worked. Took it out for a test ride, and it did the trick.
Then, as luck would have it, he just happened to have a fancy "Servizio Corsa" stem hanging around, white, 82d, 120mm - looks great, too - couldn't ask for anything more. $50 installed? SOLD!

Bought, and quickly returned, a pair of Ortlieb Back Roller Classics. After using them for 5 days, I couldn't tolerate the excessive clanking and squeaking these things made, it was abhorrent. I tried multiple ways to afix them to the rack and while using the provided inserts. From tubing to electrical tape to felt, nothing would quiet these things down. The last straw was a shrieking squeaking when it got wet....ugh.

I am now convinced that I will be buying a set of panniers only from a company that still uses a hook and strap to attach the pannier to the bottom of the rack rather than these cheap, plastic things that Ortlieb used and just allow the bags to bang around needlessly.

A new set Flanders fluoro kit from RCB, bibs and S/S jersey, and a pair of ekoi Guerra Quick-Step sunglasses. Yeah, I know that I'm tempting fate with that, but I wanted blue-and-white frames, and blue isn't a color option that they offer on regular glasses. Plus, sale.


I'll be tempting myself with a set of Giant SLR 1 wheels this weekend, too...
