How many miles you are getting in a week?
How many miles are many of you getting in each week and how many miles at time? I am a newbie and am trying to get in 100 miles a week and splitting it up in 3 days. Today I got in 40 as my goal is two 30 miles rides after work and a 40 mile ride on the weekend. I am very slow as I average about 14.5 miles an hour.

Depends on the week. It's the middle of winter now, so ... a bit less than what I might get in the summer.

Never as much as I would like. But...job, kids, etc.
Given those constraints, 100 a week is a non-attainable figure. I've had to become more realistic with my goals over the past few years.
But, good on you. Hope you can do it, and keep it up.

I try for 100 miles a week, 5000 a year. However, the reality is that I get about 3500 miles in per year due to work, weather, and winter. I use a trainer in the winter to keep from getting too out of shape for spring. This year I intend to invest in some better winter clothing and hope to be on the roads more.

Anything from 80 to 200 depending on work, weather and any other outside interferences.

About 70. I'm pretty happy there, but I push pretty hard and do intervals -- we don't have a lot of big hills, but they're all just long enough that you either make them intervals or you're in your lowest gear by the top. 100's a lot for a beginner unless you're riding along a river that's pretty much flat, then it could be too little if you're not pushing hard.

100 miles a week is my goal, riding anywhere from 15 to 50 miles per day up to 5 days a week. I commute by bike in summer so I accumulate those miles over sometimes 3 or 4 rides in a day of anywhere from 5-15 miles each ride. My "long" rides are no more than 30ish when I have time, but like others have said, I have a kid/job/etc. and ride when I can.
I often break my goal of 100 miles, and I've been averaging closer to 150 a week for the last month, but it's the QUALITY of those miles that matters. I used to do 100 miles a week when I first started too, but my miles now are MUCH faster and more intense. If your goal is to be fast and ride with fast groups, then you can easily accomplish good fitness with 100 miles a week, you will just have to start to structure your workouts.

I try to get at least 200 a week, but sometimes I just can't make it out as much as I'd like to. A typical week would be 50 miles on Tuesday, 46 Wednesday, 54 Saturday and 71 Sunday. If I can make it out on Thursday, that's another 50. Those are all group rides in my area.
Just for a change of pace, I left the house at 5:45am on Sunday and did a solo century. I think I'll do it again this week.

You guys are awesome. With my job those miles are impossible. Even more so with my kids.

I get about 100 miles per week.
3 shorter mid week rides before work.
And one longer ride on the weekend.

~110/wk. 35mi group rides on Tuesday/Thursday, and then 40mi on Saturday.
That' about the best I can do with a family with 2 kids and other obligations.

Start commuting to work by bike. I can get 100 miles a week easy with park and ride. So that's not even the full distance from my house to work. Lately, I've been getting 160 or 190 miles a week if I ride from home 2 or three days a week respectively. That's the only way I can stay on the bike since I also support a stay at home mom with crazy 3 year old toddler. Another benefit of the daily commute by bike is that you can take the weekend off and spend it with the kids.

7-10 hours worth, on average
mileage varies wildly as it depends on choice of ride. e.g. an hour on the track will net my many more miles than an hour on the trails.

I posted my most recent week of exercise here:

The distances include cycling outside + walking + running + rowing.
The times include all of the above + cycling inside + stair climbing + weightlifting
March: 489.8 km (304.3 miles) = 38 hours 4 min
April: 491.94 km (305.6 miles) = 43 hours 6 min
May: 361.81 km (224.8 miles) = 35 hours 50 min
June: 569.53 km (353.9 miles) = 41 hours 53 min
July: 230.7 km (143.35 miles) = 32 hours 45 min
Aug: 211.3 km (131.3 miles) = 28 hours 8 min
Sep: 306.7 km (190.6 miles) = 35 hour 2 min
Oct: 441.82 km (274.5 miles) = 47 hours 43 min
Nov: 660.21 km (410.23 miles) = 60 hours 41 min
Dec: 499.91 km (282.8 miles) = 54 hours 56 min
Jan: 864.79 km (537.35 miles) = 65 hours 36 min
Feb: 470.53 km (292.4 miles) = 40 hours 39 min
March: 917.73 km (570.2 miles) = 66 hours 13 min
April: 417.83 km (259.6 miles) = 40 hours 23 min
May: 267.09 km (165.9 miles) = 36 hours 10 min
June 552.1 km (343 miles) = 54 hours 48 min
So, I guess, divide those numbers by about 4 to find out how much per week.

How many miles you are gettingin a week?
I struggle year-round with that question. I have previously replied to this thread on the Fifty-Plus Forum, "What is your average miles per week (or hours) for us old guys..."
I replied to a thread by @tsl, about desirable weekly mileage.
Finally, to optimize my mileage as a busy professional and family man, I have a training routine that I call “Time-restricted, Personally Ambitious, but Non-competitive Cyclist Training Routine.”

My job; either too much to do, so I stay (comfortably) overnight and resume very early in the AM, missing my commute; or have to travel afar for ameeting. And to a lesser extent, family activities…
Having a mileage-based training schedule however, effectively motivates me to make time to ride…
I have the opportunity to commute a minimal 14 miles one-way during the week (Commuter Rail home), and round-trip on Saturday all year-round, for about100 miles a week. During the nice weather, I’d like to put in about 150-200 miles to train and do long rides
In reality though, I probably get in about 20-30 miles per week during the winter, and maybe about 75-100 during the nice weather (to include early evening rides).

…I particularly agree with yourassessment of weekly mileage, though at over 150 miles per week, I call it hyper-fit. Since March 6, through June 6, I have been engaged with a fitness challenge at work. This past week, I rode about 150 miles, via extended commuting routes, and still am in fourth place (of about 40 participants), neck and neck for third place.
Finally, to optimize my mileage as a busy professional and family man, I have a training routine that I call “Time-restricted, Personally Ambitious, but Non-competitive Cyclist Training Routine.”
About two weeks ago I described a new training routine formyself combining a well-established Ten Week Century Training Schedule of daily mileage goals with a personalized intensity scale based on ”Relative Perceived Exertion (RPE).” My basic premise was that I wanted to get significantly fit, within a busy work/family time-crunched life, but not suffer so much that I would abandon the program.
I do have the advantages of a very nice minimum 14 mile one way commute that is easily extended; and a high end, very comfortable carbon fiber road bike that encourages riding….

I have my weekly goal set to 80 miles on Strava, it's showing that I'm currently averaging 94/week. That's 3 rides and 6:51 hours per week, last couple of weeks most of my time has been on my MTB trying to make Strava climbing challenges (I made the 6000 meters last month!).

Somewhere between 70 and 100. I'd ride more, but I don't want the wife to start resenting me being gone all the time. I like to do a ~27 mile group ride once a week in the evening, and a long ride on the weekend (40-60+ miles), and try to commute once or twice. In this heat, the desire to commute is nil.
