Thanks guy. Don't worry about complaints/informing haha. That's what this thread is here for. Does it seem like they've slowed down at all, though? I reported a bunch a few days ago, but I don't know how long it takes for them to do anything. They're a third-party and not in the company.

This just happened to me twice. One was a legitimate popup, which is muchless annoying. The second, I was typing a reply in this thread, and lost everything I had written when the page suddenly navigated away.
It must be hard to find the culprit, especially since as @IBJoel says, it isn't Norton (etc) doing this. It's some third party, probably engaging in click and/or affiliate marketing fraud. The ad takes you to a page that sends you somewhere else, and that makes it impossible to just trace the offending uri back to an ad. As users, it happens too quickly to notice what ads were displaying.
I wonder if it's feasible to make a tool to detect this. I can't think of exactly how it would work, but I'm a developer, and I'd be happy to help write one if anybody can come up with a plan. If anybody would like to try we can brainstorm about it.
