My wife turned 70 last month; my turn next month. House is 46 years old, bikes are 30 to 60 years old (see signature). Our VW Passat wagon is is 2 months shy of 20 years old. Grandsons turned 5 and 3 in March and June, respectively. Life is good.

1960 was a good year! There are advantages to being sixty e.g. wealth, cheap car/motorbike insurance, retired or retirement somewhere close, women from a wide age range are attractive.
I'd rather be 18 again though.

2008 hurt me way more than the 70's. After all back then i was not in the market.
I got a brand new car for $2100... I still have it..

I turned 60 earlier this year. Looking to get in really good shape through bicycle riding. Maybe do a century ride or something similarly silly.
I have been riding pretty much my whole life, but never seriously. There is a Down syndrome kid in the neighborhood who is training for an Iron Man. No one with Down Syndrome has ever completed an Iron Man. He is an impressive kid. Inspired me to work a bit harder.

My State Senator is not seeking re-election this year. IIRC he's 92 or 93. Longest-serving state-level elected official in the history of the republic. Every year on his birthday he bicycles his age -- in miles, not km.

I had not ridden more than 15 miles in 25 years until three weeks ago, rode 20 miles, the next weekend 40 miles, this past weekend 42 miles. Feels really good.
Rode 11 miles this morning. I am thinking I will do two or three short rides during the week then a long ride on the weekend. A little longer each weekend and see where I end up.
