money well spent! how does your head feel? not to scare you, but I have a neighbor who bumped his head on a door jam & some time later started having equilibrium, problems. went to a doc & had some imaging done. had a large (grapefruit sized) mass growing that needed removal. he's fine, a computer programmer & stills like to drink. wishing you well but don't dismiss suspicious symptoms

still some clowns who flash their headlight. freaking annoying. in particular, 3 guys w/ bright lights all pointing forward, not down & the leader of the pack waits until they are 300 ft? from me then he starts his BS flashing his headlight. really freaking annoying. go play somewhere else dumb dumb!

on Mass Ave. as I approached I heard first responders & wondered if I should proceed. the lights were in my favor, so I rolled up to the green box. while there, the emergency vehicles activated the white strobes on the street lights & all lights turned red. & some idiot just went thru it! there were 3 red lights, there was no excuse. if the emergency vehicles were a little faster & less careful, there could have been a collision. what a dumb*ss!

Got my new helmet. MiPs equipped this time. Trying to decide if I should head out today or if my elbow is too sore. I'll eat some breakfast and then decide. Leaning toward getting back on the horse.

I’ve been riding my cross bike and my new Seven a lot this month. The sun has been rising early enough that I can head out with just my little “be-seen” light. The budding trees, flowers, and all the pleasantness of Spring is on full display in the early mornings. The riding the last 2 weekends have been everything from both raining and windy to sunny and nice.

I finally got out after a two week layoff due to a cough, and the fact that my mother needed surgery which was pretty serious. Anyway, it was great to get back on the Roubaix and do my usual Carlisle, Concord, and Bedford loop. It was just 22 miles, but that's all I had time for.

ran up the BFRT from the parking lot at 127 Concord Rd. Acton to Center Brickhouse Pizza, 1 Central Square, Chelmsford, for 20 miles of quiet, uneventful, almost lonely & sometimes spooky, riding

This morning it was both cold and wet. 2 separate conditions I have the gear for but put the 2 together and I inevitably end up with 5lbs of waterlogged feet and frozen fingertips. It kept me to a quite slow, cold, wet and miserable 15.5 ride on my cross bike.

Back on my Seven Redsky at 0500 for 30 wonderful miles before it drizzled. While in Carlisle I saw a heard of deer grazing in a field behind a stone wall among the whispy fog.

Back home.

Walked to and through the Botanic Gardens (with trekking poles), walked the F1 circuit (sans poles), and walked the MacRitchie Trail (with trekking poles). Rest of the time without poles.

National Museum and National Gallery are both completely wonderful. Had a wonderful cheap Budhist Temple Meal in a food court at the end of one of the MRT lines, least contemplative setting ever (outside a video game arcade) - but food was spectacular. Also a great cheap vegan meal in Chinatown.

Discovered that incense is pretty Universalist. Catholic, Taoist, or Buddhist, it's an asthma trigger all the same.

And surprised that I love the smell of Durian, especially in the wild.

Finally, my PT has progressed. I finally started standing up on my left tippy toes. So, yeah! Puts me on track for a couple of more months.

So, Labor Day to Independence Day. Wow.

I snuck out of the office for 35 miles during lunch break today on my Seven. I got to the Concord rotary and saw what appeared to be a homeless encampment by the water fountain. Once I got close enough to get a better look I think they were painters strewn about in front of canvases with their gear laid out. I made it home before the rain. One of these days I’ll stop and get a Picture of my new bike in the wild. I keep meaning to but I’m too lazy to stop and fumble to take my phone out of the zip lock in my back pocket, take my gloves off and lay them across my handlebar on top of the ziplock only to have them fall and then me fall over scratching up my new bike while trying to pick them up.

66 miles today on my Trek cross bike. I must say that my every joint and muscle was glad it was over when it was. Something I don’t find my self feeling after riding my Seven. Anyhow I stopped off at Ferns mid way for a snack.

I did a nice 40 mile ride yesterday through Carlisle, Concord, Sudbury and Wayland. The aches and pains came on after about 25 miles. As much as I hate taking pills, I think a couple of Alleve might be in order before any more long rides.
I'm strongly considering doing another Auburn to home (Billerica) ride tomorrow.

Is the trail (rail trail) from Hyde Park to Pope John Paul II Park too tame for all of you?

I have been commuting on my Vado 3.0 the last two days (after my 3-week ago spill off my Rans V 'bent)... I think the bent and I need some "run time" on flat.. so here's hoping the sun is here to stay a while!

Y can park at Readaville station on the orange line.. or "up the hill" (very mild) at 1015 Truman Parkway in Hyde Park... I stay on the sidewalk side, and WALK across with the walk light at the intersection(s) to Readaville... It's a great ride.

Brought the Rawland Nordavinden up from the basement and put it on the road for the season. First ride was up to Depot Park on a beautiful Spring day. Once I got there, dark clouds followed me home, but the rain held off until the bike was in the garage.


Every time I ride this bike, I tell myself it's my all-time favorite two-wheeled conveyance, what with its low trail and thin-walled, heat-treated, skinny tubeset. Then I ride something else, and the feeling passes.

I rode another 43 Sunday on my cross bike with wet weather gear and it was kinda wet but kinda not. Monday and Tuesday I rode 28.5 each on my Seven out to Carlisle up Westford rd, Spencer Brook rd, Pope rd and Strawberry Hill. What a delightful sight to behold early on a sunny Spring morning.
