Hey, by Monday, there might only be about ten riders who have not been banned from the race. We could know how close our "Top Ten" lists are by "Stage Three".

The winner could turn out to be "Ivan Ivanovich" from Turkestan. "I vas vanted to taxk zee medicine from Espana, but I no have zee 40,000 Euro's...all I could afford vas vitamins from Costco...zat is vay I zee las von lef in zee race..."

And here is my revised list...because of all the confusion/dopes...I will extend the extension until end of stage 4. Don't let a little controversy cause you to develop apathy. I was encouraged for the first time to read the interview of Cadel Evans...the first rider I've heard come out and say strongly...If they are guilty they are cheaters, kick em out and let the clean riders race...is there actually a clean rider with a chance to win??? I hope so, either he is balsy or clean and honest, I hope the latter. Here goes...

Landis
Evans
Salvodelli
Valverde
Sastre
Leipheimer
Hincapie
Menchov
Gil
Azevedo

Hincapie
Valverde
Landis
Savoldelli
Evans
Rasmusson
Simoni
Kloden
Cunego
Leipheimer

...but I think there is a 50/50 chance 2 on this list will get busted by the end of the tour

Did you just run out of names? Or are you betting there will only be 10 finishers, and McEwen can take a competition rusty Millar, particularly with the sprint time bonuses?

Thanks for the results but am I missing something ? Merlin had McEwen in eighth...correct...I realize this was probably a "tongue in cheek" choice but???
If this is the case I cannot believe I won this 2 years running...I would place myself ahead of veloduo, due to 3 of 5 top 10 picks with points tied. When you create contest you get to create rules...

Looking forward to Landis next year...I believe he will be in much less pain and even stronger ...Ciao

I'd like to claim some superior knowledge. However any success in predicting this very unpredictable race had to be luck.

You should get minus points for picking Hincapie in the top ten and be DQ'd for picking him as a winner.

I probably made a mistake by leaving Basso and Ullrich on my "Top Ten" list after they were barred from the race. On the other hand, Basso and Ullrich did not fare much worse than most of my other picks.

Did any Forum member predict that Pereiro would be in the top five? The top ten? The top fifty?

The fact that so many "sure things" ride poorly at the Tour, and that so many "nobodys" sometimes rise to the top is what makes the Tour the most fascinating event in sports.

I totally had Cyril Dessel in my Top Ten! That was the easiest to see....

What? I didn't? Oh....

Yeah. Unpredictable.

TYB069 picked Pereiro for 6th (in revised list, 10th in pre Puerto list). We didn't put a list showing top 50, but since he was in the top 10 the 2 previous years, I would assume most would have expected Pereiro to be well in the top 50. Not sure I'd agree Pereiro was a nobody to begin with, I expected he would be Rassmussen and Mayo's competition for KOM.
