The Rest Day thread
I don't want to think about the motorcycle couriers delivering blood to the hotels tonight and tommorow, so lets just talk about the Tour so Far..
So far I give it an A.
no clear favorite at all, and that is great!!!
a Pure climber in the lead early, and Moreau attacking, albiet in vain.. it was nice to see the cat and mouse game on the climbs, much more fun to watch than Lance just riding off the front every time. The first couple of years it was cool, but then it got old to me at least.

Much more interesting than the Lance Years and the sour taste of last years suspensions are gone (at least for me).

I concur with the A, but I think a couple DS's earn a bit less than that as their grade. Maybe if their leaders have trouble on Tuesday, they'll not hold their other riders who are in good form back to work for them.
Shame what happened to to the Aussies today though. That let some serious air out of the balloon.

An A for entertainment, that's for sure. Arroyo's crash was particularly fun to watch. It will be interesting to see how the ITT's sort out the fodder.
BTW, where've you been? Work must be draggin' you down.

I think it's been great so far.
Cancellera taking a flyer to win a stage in the Yellow Jersey was great. Yesterday's tactics, and the remaining unsettled questions add a lot of interest.
Will be interesting to see if Vino can regain his form.
It's nice to watch a TDF where the outcome is still wide open after the first mountaintop finish.
Too bad for the green jersey competition that Mckewan's out.
Major negative: No TTT.

i think a tour like this is just what cycling needs right now- the field is wide open, the GC contenders change every day, and you can't expect every favorite to even finish

It's been awesome so far.
I need a rest too. I'm exhausted.

I completely cocnur. Seriously - no one can honestly predict the winner right now. Even the Giro was essentially taken by DiLuca and it became clear he was not relinquishing it.
I wish more Americans would get a chance to see this. Best sports event so far this year.
And this was just the FIRST mountain stage, and the Pyrenees are going to be even steeper this year.

I can predict... Cadel Evans.
Sneaking up the GC pedal by pedal.
Although I am biased as I'm Australian. All our Aussie hopes rest with this annoying whiney voiced rider.

If Evans wins I may never watch the Tour again. He is a wheel sucker supreme. I think if him and one other GC rider were on a mountain top finish breakaway and the other guy flatted Evans would wait so he could suck more wheel. Talk about boring.

speaking of wheel suckers, did you guys watch moreau in the chasing group today? at least levi had a card to play, but i thought moreau was just leeching off the entire group. i think i just will never like moreau no matter what. he always just seems like such a prick, remember the famous spit?
