This thread and the "old fart on fixies" thread are seriously tempting me to indulge in the $99 Wally Thruster just to see how it holds up to the commute.
do it

i would have went with a thruster if they had one over here.

the mangobike was the closest that i could get and its been fun so far

seems like both sets of axle nuts are rusting ... along with the tugs.

should i grease the axle where the nut threads or just replace them with better nuts when i have the wheels off?

I use a corrosion inhibiter oil in a spray can available at most auto parts stores. It leaves a layer of protection that is kind of oily and won't come off unless you rub it off. It worked great on my stainless steel fender supports last season. I also spray some on my derailer and other parts.

This, or just grease everything. Remember anything bare is fair game for rust.

Yeah, I should have seen this coming, especially on an inexpensive bike.

Its not really something to be overly concerned about as its only surface rust. With a cool bike like yours though, I think its worth preserving its looks and appeal by cleaning and protecting because its has a unique paint job.

In the world of my personal preferences: Stealth black pretty much trumps any neon I find the color of your bike quite garish myself.
