Headset Question

Hi,

Im trying to build my own bike for the first time. I ordered a 2008 black market riot, as i have a friend who has one and raves about it. I read on the black market website that this bike has a intigrated headset. What does this mean. I have already purchased a cane creek Aheadset (have one on my other bike and love it + its cheap ) is this frame and headset compatible. Do i even need a headset?

thanks so much

You'll need a new headset - IS, Campy style, 36/45. Check out the Cane Creek IS-2i or IS-8i. Eastern Bikes offers them too and they're the cheapest option I know of.

It has to to with the headtube on the frame you ordered a traditional (threadless) headset is pressed into the headtube. A frame designed for an integrated headset has a headtube shaped for the bearings to be placed inside... its just a matter of two different styles.

Actually even some crown races are split and can be installed with no tools... integrated headsets are easy.
