If I had vintage track bike money, I would be buying them like hotcakes. Those aluminum aero fixies are a silly trend that I hope will end. STEEL IS REAL, DEATH TO MODERNITY, VINYL PROVIDES A WARMER SOUND YOU CAN'T GET FROM CASSETTE TAPES, GET OFF MY LAWN!

I love me some vintage bikes
A little bit too much considering I still have 2 notable vintage light beam related framesets from brands you may know that I still need to built up properly after driving obscene amounts to go get them.
If it's worth anything, I cheat on both my "modern" reasonably equipped paddywagon and my purpose built gulf CAAD10 (hilly valley commute = compact cranks) with an 80's cdale road 3.0 that I got for a fraction of the price on my commutes.
Some day I will bring it to my group ride as to be judged harshly by eyes behind oakleys.

I test rode a couple of track bikes but the geometry was too aggressive for me.
So count me as one of the guys that don't ride vintage track bikes.
I do own some vintage road bikes, however.

Nope. I have a modern aluminum ss/fixie. And a classic piece of junk road bike, I fixed and put studded tires on for the winter.
BUT... vintage track is hot as ****.

When I was a kid (12) my dad gave me his father's hand made track bike from the 1930's to ride. It was made in Yonkers by a guy named Dick Corke. I rode it for 3+ years. For the first year I had no brake. My dad put a front brake on it after that. It was a great ride until I rode it into the back of a parked car.
This year I repurposed a Cesare track bike from the late 1980's to early 1990's for street use. The geometry is a bit twitchy, but that tends to make me smoother when I am riding a modern track bike on the track. I can also gear it really short to get in some overspeed training on my commute. I have about 500 miles on it and I love it.
Here are some pictures of the work I did.

I so wish I could be as cool as some of the hipster kids I see on rides. It must be nice to spend all that time and money acting like you have no time or money, and drinking **** beer. I get a real kick off these guys, particularly the black spray paint covered SL4 Roubaix conversion...not a good spray paint, just over all the Spec logos so we can see how "anti-branding" cool he is and how money means nothing......

sounds like its time ot get the police involved, domestic abuse is no laughing matter.
i have a vintage rode bike and 2 modern tarcxk bikes, i dont like any of them any more than the other, they are all my children.
people do things for different reasons, though most of the time that reason is "because", which if youre over the age of 13 is a completely acceptable answer
