My Roubaix came with white bar tape when I bought it - never again.

On a related note, i re-wrapped with Lizard Skin bar tape earlier this year. LBS talked me into it - crazy expensive and it's already wearing thru. Will go back to the fizik stuff next time, just have to figure out which one I had, it lasted a long time.

I have some fabric (brand) tape on my roubaix right now that's pretty nice... it's rubbery, so it appears to provide good grip when my hands get all sweaty. I had fizik (I think the 3mm microtex) last time and it lasted a long time and was pretty comfy.

Got the two Cinellis (above) in the parts bin ready for the next bike that needs tape. Which will be the Gan when I get sick of white bartape.

I change bar tape frequently and on a whim-- between the internet and the LBS family discount, it's not that expensive. So I've tried many a brand and type of tape, and I keep coming back to Fizik. The Cervelo gets the 2mm "Superlight" (the black with white Fizik logos) while everything else here has the 3mm Performance tape (the kinda asymmetrical stuff.) The 2mm has been on the bike since the 5th or 6th ride, so it has around 7,000 miles on it, and has been re-wrapped probably 5 times. It's my second roll on the Ritchey, and it's been re-wrapped 3 times now, but it's still in excellent shape.

I tried some Profile Designs in between applications of the Fizik, and it lasted about 4 months. When I removed it, the tape was compressed to less than a millimeter thick. It was a little thicker than duct tape, and probably absorbing as much vibration. The Fizik just lasts. I've been tempted to try some of the Supacaz stuff, just because of the bonkers colors/designs, but $50 a roll for bar tape? Yeah, nah.

I just redid the Allez I was borrowing from my brother with Lizardskin. I had it on the Ridley and liked it a lot, but it’s far from cheap. It was however black, so will stay clean

I will have to try the Fizik stuff next. Guy I was riding with today — old school mate — had it too and loved it. Even in white in the U.K. , shockingly enough. It was almost clean too!!

I am fully going for some @jimincalif level consistency. Unintentionally. It just happened.

Aug: 1,065.4 miles, 35,675ft, 61h17m
Sept: 1,059.0 miles, 35,066ft, 60h30m

That's a 0.006% difference in distance, a 0.017% difference in elevation, and a 0.013% difference in time.

Also, ****!
