The ads are getting out of hand. This is the only site that kills battery life and is constantly putting the spam blocker into OT mode.
the multimedia ads are a huge problem when loading a page here.

Wonder how many members don't realize that this is a for-profit venture that, last I checked, is ultimately owned by a large, private equity firm.

I don't remember seeing all the pop up ads like I'm getting all the time now. Cars, restaurants, maybe, but even Donald Trump, and vaping products? Certainly not targeted marketing. Is a premium membership the way to make these go away?

Adblocker works well on this site. At least on the PC. I don't even try to read forums on my phone.

use your phone, there are virtually no adds that way. If you want to use the desktop version you have to pay to get a good experience. I tried it and its the truth. Free version is VERY ad heavy with pop ups and such. The pop ups become unbearable at times so I am a phone user 95% of the time now.
Not as user friendly but still adds aren't hardly an issue.
Free is never free and if its free online you are the product remember. I love this place but yes the ads suck big time!

I use my Samsung tablet 90% of the time, phone and PC the rest of the time for BF. I don't see ads on either phone or PC (that I've noticed). The tablet ads just starting popping up and are really annoying, especially for vaping and Trump.
