Trek 400 vs. Fuji Flair
I have a '87 Fuji Flair, original components, good condition. Is a Trek 400 in good condition, but needing about $75 worth of work, worth the $250 it would cost to get it? washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/bik/d/cm-trek-400-reynoldsc-wheels/6769944228

The Trek is an upgrade, but if you buy it for $250 and put another $75 into it, you will have a $325 Trek 400. I would pass on it, but that is only my opinion.

If it's your size and you like the feel and look of it I think it's worth it.

I have a 1985 Trek 410 that I heavily modernized myself to the tune of about $800 plus the $175 purchase price. I love this bike. It is my current favorite and don't see myself ever getting rid of it - and even in my dreams I could never get what the $ I put in.
If I did want to sell I would strip the modern components and re-build with the original stuff prior to sale.
How much is a good bike that you enjoy riding worth to you? $325 is pretty cheap fun these days. Just make sure it fits you and the components meet your expectations.

Still learning
Seller says it is ready-to-ride. What would $75 be spent on?
If you’re not 5’10” ish, it isn’t going to be a happy fit.

Most quality frame sets will be light when you take the wheels and components off. Even if it's a 30 year old frame.
