GITANE Professional Super Corsa 54cm- Price Drop.. Early 70's-SOLD

SOLD- This is from the early 70's and was the top of the line racing bike for Gitane at the time. SOLD plus shipping on bike flights from zip 92780. Add PP fee please. Pick up in Tustin, CA.

Rear derailleur has Patent 72 on it. Reynolds 531 frame /fork and complete Campagnolo Nuovo Record group including pedals and seat post. High flange 36H Campy hubs have been laced to more modern clincher rims. Flat Campagnolo skewers. 5 speed free wheel. Friction shifters. 3TTT stem and bars. I don't think the seat post binder bolt is Campagnolo and the nut on the front brake caliper looks like a replacement.

54cm from center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube. 53.5cm top tube center to center. The frame shows some wear with scratches on the top tube most likely from leaning against something but most of the decals are still nice and there are no dents in the frame. The chrome looks good. Reynolds frame decals are mostly gone but can still be recognized. The Campy brake hoods have a tear but can be left as is.

The bike is rideable as it sits or you can change the bar tape, saddle and tires to your liking. I gave it a basic tune up to get the shifting right but the cables should be replaced pretty soon as it has been at least 5 years on those. Wheels are true and spin nicely.
