The "Show off your Japanese bike." thread
Here's mine:
1989 Fuji Roubaix, mix of Shimano 600/105 7 speed components and Campagnolo Omega wheels. Modernized with stem converter and added Reynolds stem and bar, and a Kalloy seat post and Selle Italia seat. Awesome commuter bike for sunny days.

My Bianchi is a Japanese Bianchi. My Nishiki is definitely Japanese. Pictures are in my sig, but I've changed a few things on it since then so I'll take some new ones soon.

Here's one I sold recently. The paint had been stripped at some point to reveal the chrome underneath. Perhaps a Fuji or a small Japanese builder.

I know its not a Team, the lugs aren't windowed. There aren't even any of the original components left on the bike except the Ultegra cranks, and I don't even know if those are OEM or not....
There's a scarcity of Fuji info on the web as many of us know. Anyone have any thoughts?

My American Eagle [Nishiki] Semi-Pro [Competition] no longer exists, because the seat tube lug broke off the BB shell about 15 years ago, after 20 years and 40k miles/65k km. It was an interesting experience to buy one of the very first "decent" Japanese bikes in the U.S. in 1971, so I feel like one of the pioneers for this thread. (I also worked part-time at a Peugeot-Nishiki dealership from 1972 to 1974.) About the time I bought my Nishiki, UCLA's Earth Action Council advised transportation cyclists to buy good entry-level European road bikes, such as the Peugeot UO-8 and the Raleigh Supercourse, saying that "some Japanese bikes, such as the American Eagle Semi-Pro, may be quite good, but in general one has little assurance of high quality." Tell that to today's buyers of Toyota or Honda automobiles!
