This was my main ride for years. I still have it, but haven't ridden it much lately - a 1988 Miyata 215ST touring model:

The BB on mine is stamped with something like "550 520", I can't read the second half though. I did find an older catalogue online and mine appears to be like the '89, but it's not exactly the same. Could be older, could be newer. Who knows?
You're right - it doesn't REALLY matter exactly what vintage the bike is, it still rides okay etc. I was just curious, so thanks a bunch! I love to see photos of Fujis. I'll try to post some of mine.

Thanks again.

My only "pretty" Japanese bike at the moment. I have a Miyata City Runner which is in pieces and rather boring. Also have a Japanese Le Tour which I haven't gotten around to building. This one is astounding though. An 86? model Maruishi RX-4 with literally no wear. Got it for $16, and not so much as a scuff on the braking surfaces. Indexed shifting works well also. Click and shift rear, and friction front.,,,,BD

1981 Miyata 1000 with a few mods. I'm currently building up a new wheelset for it and will eventually upgrade to indexed shifting too...

Ooops! You need to get another one, WTP. Everyone should have at least one UJB in the collection.

Here is my 1973 Schwinn World Voyageur (Made by Panasonic). Modified w/ a Nexus 8 speed internal Hub and a Schmidt Dyno hub. The bike worked great this year for my winter commuting. I had 700cc wheels built for it so I could run studded Nokian tires. The spicture was taken right after towing my son on his trailer bike. Hence the big silver thing comomg off the rear.

The Centurion Ironman is currently a stripped frame and a bucket of parts, so.......

Miyata 512

If I was restricted to one bike (God forbid!) it would be this one: Miyata Triplecross converted to drops. Goes anywhere; does everything.

Hey, I remember seeing that bike when it was on ebay. I'm a sucker for that look. The air of mystery helps too.

Just a spot where the snowblower went deep.
I guess I also shoud have posted the Shogun 400 and Fuji Sunfire in the barn, and the Team Miyata TT frameset hanging on the wall.

I put the Shimano/DA stickers on myself. The bike is built up with DA 7400 and 7700 components. It is 9 speed. The handlebars are 44cm Cinelli Giro d-Italia. Kind of hard to tell from the profile. The tubing is oversized Tange Prestige .8/.5/.8 and the dropouts are Shimano. It is 56 cm and I am 6'1" tall so the bike has kind of a compact setup. I love this bike the way it is setup. I have been riding it for over a year now and I am now sold to the more compact setup. It handles beautifully and climbs real well too. This is a serious vintage steel racing machine.

I am still trying to find out who might have made this bike.

Very cool.

Do you have frame geometry information on that? Would you be willing to measure it and submitting it to the Frame Geometry Project?
