The BB on mine is stamped with something like "550 520", I can't read the second half though. I did find an older catalogue online and mine appears to be like the '89, but it's not exactly the same. Could be older, could be newer. Who knows?

My only "pretty" Japanese bike at the moment. I have a Miyata City Runner which is in pieces and rather boring. Also have a Japanese Le Tour which I haven't gotten around to building. This one is astounding though. An 86? model Maruishi RX-4 with literally no wear. Got it for $16, and not so much as a scuff on the braking surfaces. Indexed shifting works well also. Click and shift rear, and friction front.,,,,BD

1981 Miyata 1000 with a few mods. I'm currently building up a new wheelset for it and will eventually upgrade to indexed shifting too...

Here is my 1973 Schwinn World Voyageur (Made by Panasonic). Modified w/ a Nexus 8 speed internal Hub and a Schmidt Dyno hub. The bike worked great this year for my winter commuting. I had 700cc wheels built for it so I could run studded Nokian tires. The spicture was taken right after towing my son on his trailer bike. Hence the big silver thing comomg off the rear.
