Take a look at my '77 Takara. Rode it 20 miles back and forth to work June 10. This was saved for me by my local recycling guy. I spent 5 hrs. cleaning, adjusting and trueing before taking these pics. It looks better now with a little more TLC. A sweet ride and those chrome rims and handlebars make it POP!

Just picked this up at a garage sale today. A Maruishi Record. Shimano 600 all around. Needs new rubber, but other than that....

Yeah BD, it's funny how both us Texans ended up building the same bikes at nearly the same time. I haven't put barcons on mine yet so there *will* be a difference. Btw... your decals did go out yesterday so you should have them soon!

They're both 25 inch frames too, unless my eyes are playing tricks? Same year, same model, same size. Funnier still is this bike shouldn't really fit me, but with seatpost just peaking out, my leg is at the perfect bend. I swapped over the almost broken in B17 from the X0-3, and can already tell this is going to be one comfortable ride. The handlebars are at the exact height and reach, pedals not too far forward or back. Everything seems like it was made for me. It's just about complete. Decals, string the cables, clean out the cassette, true the rear wheel, etc. Little stuff in other words.,,,,BD

1984 or 85 Miyata 1000. Not much to look at yet but I'll post new pictures when it's built up.

Here is my Panasonic Sport 1000. I haven't found much about it yet, but it appears to have gotten some riding in the past. The chain is Sachs, rear freewheel is Shimano SIS, deraillers and shifters are Shimano too (but still friction), while the front hub is Suzue, front rim is Araya and the rear hub is unknow, rear rim is Wienmann. Nice kickstand too.
I'm not sure what I will do over the winter; I'm tempted to try to repaint it, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to find the decals for it. Plus, I kinda like the rough look--I'm not afraid to lean it against things. This photo hides most of the flaws.
Is Univega Japanese too?

Here's my new addition to the Classic Japanese bikes. Its a Fuji Sagres SP, 12 speed with Suntour gruppo (just learned that word today, 
ha ha). It rides great and is smooth. The bike is light too. It's a Tange 900 CrMo frame. It's my first road bike. Bought it for $200. May be a little on the spendy side, but I don't have to do any work to it, but ride it. I couldn't afford a new bike. Anyway...enjoy!
I'm learning a lot in the last hour on this forum. I'd really like to know when this was built.

Can't get anymore Japanese than a Shogun, haha. I found this one at a pawn shop for $39.99 plus tax
on Wednesday. Shogun Alpine GT tourer. Canti brakes, Tange Infinity DB tubing, etc. I think I did pretty good for the money.,,,,BD

A better shot of my Takara. Recently replaced the tires and the brake pads to make it a little more road-worthy. Still need brake hoods, and I should probably replace the chain if I can ever get around to it.

The Finest Bike in the World
A "vintage" 1986 Bike Nashbar Toure XT that was my High School Bike. It is a little big for me (They thought I would keep growing). There is not much out there about these early Nashbar Bikes.

I did a thread for it a few days ago, cleaned it up a small bit and thought I should post the photo in this thread. The original saddle had rips on both sides and the tyres have been replaced. Still had the original tubes, the rear had to go as it had about half a dozen patch jobs and was very lumpy. Otherwise it is all original, not the most vintage. But nothing will change on it from here on.
