Had a police escort for the river ride tonight. Fellow cyclist/police officer sat off the back of the pack in his car for ride and gave us a little leadout on the sprint. Amazingly, we didn't encounter any angry drivers tonight...

So, how crazy would it be for me to do September CCCX 35+ 3/4 followed immediately by 35+ 123 as my first day of cat 3 racing?

I'd say rest up well that week! I'd love to try out a 123 race, see if I'd get dropped.

Winters RR. How can I describe it...? I hate my legs. Looking at the power we were hitting 600s, but mostly it was in 400s/300s on climbs, and they are super short. If I can do CCCX, go gagilion laps on San Rafael, and Foothill this should be doable also. Nope, legs imploded, or is it exploded, or is just committed suicide while still attached to me? I honestly don't understand what happened. As soon as grade went up, my legs screamed in pain, and then died.

Looks like a stacked weekend for racing. I'll probably just do Red Kite to get two races in and then get out of town (maybe Tahoe??) for the rest of the weekend.
Kind of a bummer they shuffled the schedule and now Vacaville and the Giro are back to back. I'll probably skip the Giro this year. It's a fun race, but driving into the city mid day during a holiday weekend will only lead to hours of sitting in traffic.
btw, Giro 4 field is almost full.

I really would like to do Red Kite, even after missing a few I'm 5th in omnium. Though I'll prob get bumped out even if I do the crit. Maybe I'll go and just ride off the front to stay safe. Lol.

My goal is to just have fun in both and try different things. I think I'll just attack/break until caught, recover, repeat in the 3/4 race. If nothing gets away, recover for the last few laps then see what happens on the final.
For the 2/3, I'll just hope to survive...that can be fun, right.

Apparently I am in top ten at Red Kite. lol. Considering I missed a bunch, and whatnot.
Registered for Giro. I just hope not to be taken out, and not to destroy my wheels.
Will do CAT4 Red Kite. I think I'll skip 3/4. Hmm Hack want to lead me out in 3/4?

Find me with ~2.5 to go and let me know you're there. Will try to get you to the last turn. Keep in mind we'll be on a different course and I think it's like 150m out of the turn to the finish.
