Flats here are inevitable no matter what tire you ride. My road bikes use Mr. Tuffy liners (Zaffiro Pro and Dynamic) and still flat occasionally (goatheads mostly, some road debris). The commuter uses Specialized Nimbus 28's with Slime liners. Heavy, yes, but best combo I've found so far. With the road tires, I just carry extra tubes and patch kit - two flats in one ride last week

I have been having good luck with Vittoria Rubino Pro's. Very good puncture resistance and rolls very nice.

I've had Specialized Armadillo Elites on my foul weather bike since 2007. Only on my second set since then; I got ~5,000 miles out of the first pair without a single flat, & the only reason I changed them is they started to look like ass. Second pair has over 4,000 miles on them now and still look pretty good.

The Serfas Seca RS tires were incredible for me for the first 1000 miles. They rolled well, are very light and also had great traction even in the rain. After 1000 miles however, the flats came...and kept on coming. It was rediculous. After 2000 miles, the front and rear tires were so worn they had to be removed. There were also bulges present on the tread of BOTH tires. Since I had to pull my tires so often I kept on noticing how many cuts were on these tires. There were an alarming number of cuts in the tires with so many pieces of gravel and little rocks imbedded in the tires. If you change you tires every 1000 miles no matter what, these tires are a bargain. A BETTER option would be to go with Vittoria Zaffiro Pro Slick tires. They are sometimes cheaper and you can get more miles out of them. The Serfas Seca RS tires are fragile in my opinion.

Even IF you're riding BOMB PROOF BULLET PROOF tires while SLAM DANCIN on tight CORNERS!!!
PS: I like the vreds a lot. I switched over to vreds from GP3000s and 4000s and have not had one single... you-know-what since doing so. Doh!

I have about 500 miles on a pair of Zaffiro Pros and love them. They are my first high pressure tire (140!) and are wearing great. Still, I prefer a thicker belt even at the cost of a smoother ride.

Don't you check your tires or clean them after a ride? Flats are inevitable, no tire will be puncture proof. This tire has good puncture resistance. Mine happened to last me 3000 miles and yours seemed to last you less. Even with the VERY BEST puncture resistant tire (which will always be objective), you still have to check for cracks and splits.

no worries mate. thats what this forum is about, sharing opinions. nobody is getting bent out of shape. we are talking about tires for goodness sake. whatever tire works best for you mang. like I said in my original post, I'm not even riding the serfas seca tire right now. I felt it was a great tire for all around performance. But that doesn't mean it is the ONLY good all around tire. everyone has a tire that either worked or didn't. 
I may even have to give that vitorria zaffiro tire a shot. I had the rubino pros and liked them even though they had punctures left and right, it looked great and felt pretty solid. Just didn' tlast me very long.

Also note, there's a difference between Armadillo Elites and regular Armadillos. I've never tried the latter, but word on the street is that they're even less flat-prone than the Elites because they have a thicker puncture-proof sidewall...but that makes them a real bear to get on/off the rim. Plus they apparently ride like complete schidt (The Elites only ride like incomplete schidt, which for my purposes is perfectly acceptable.)

I have had very good results from Vittoria Rubibos and Zaffiros with the PRB (puncture resistant belt) feature. I have never had a flat on Panaracer Pasela Tour Gaurds. They have gum-colored sidewalls, which look fine on my vintage fleet but might look odd on modern bikes.
