I know not everyone will like these tires. But it sounds like there are a lot of newbie riders who have been asking about about flat tires or what tires to use lately and I thought I would drop some knowledge.

I PERSONALLY have had nothing but awesome success with this tire. I ride with a group of 4 other people on a consistant basis and 3 of the other riders use this tire. I had 3000miles on this tire and had NO flats. It is SO nice to leave your house on a ride and not ever worry about a flat tire. (Bring a tube just in case) between the 4 of us....not 1 flat. They perform well, seemed to have a pretty low rolling resistance, had a good grip for a tire that has such a long life and comes in a crap ton of color options. There are lots of other options you can get that claim to also have very good puncture resistance such as armadillos or gp4000 (Ive heard people love these), but some of these higher end longevity tires run $80+ per tire vs $35 per tire for these. For the cost, I really dont think you can beat this tire, IF you looking for a tire that you can go out and ride city streets, country roads that have a lot of glass or crap that has been tossed into the roads.

I gotta be honest, I'm not using them right now because I wanted to try the vredestien tri comp. If this tire doesn't perform like I am hoping it to, I will be back to these.

I am not a salesman for them or anything at all. I just know what its like to have a flat on every ride and I also know the other side of the table where you can not worry ever about where you ride or ride over.

Like I said, not everyone will like the looks of it or had bad luck or something. but everyone I know who has used these has loved them for thousands of miles...flat free.

I just had a flat on one of those last Thursday. Hit a pothole pretty hard and pssssshhhhh (although, I don't see how that will not flat any other tire)! They are great tires other than that incident.

For my everyday rides, I don't even bother with bags-tools-patch kits. What a hassle.

You get what you pay for and tires are before brakes, personally.

lol, well Tag had a flat from rolling over the grand canyon, so i guess they aren't "bomb" proof, but for a really strong great overall tire that can take a beating. these are it!

Well, I am going to have to take back that claim about the Serfas tires. I just looked at the tube that punctured last week. It seems that the hole is on the inside diameter of the tube and I can not find any damage on the tire itself. I scanned the inside of the tire while replacing it on the road and could not find any debris that could cut into the tube. Could it be that the impact was hard enough to push the tube into the nipples (through the rim tape) to cause a puncture?

I hate serfas secas they don't even roll strait, Continental attack force is where it's at. If you want a decent tire you gotta spend at least $100

...no sarcasm intended, I lock my bike up for hours at a time and hate the tool bag and so on. They're just another thing to carry inside work, school and the store. It sucks.

like I said, it isnt a tire that everyone will want. but I had success with it. I'm running vredestein tri comps as of now and I got 1000 miles so far with no problems....(KNOCK ON WOOD) i should not have just said that......

Also a Krylion user here. Never had a flat except the other day when I hit something that must have been excessively sharp and pointed since I heard the high pitched hiss of a perfectly inflated tires suffering from a pinhole puncture, I was even able to track down the puncture spot in the tire before it was fully deflated and it must have been a tack or something, tire ran perfectly fine after a new tube though.

Everyone has their own tire that they swear by and I am sure that many of the non-cheapo, non-race tires are all probably equally good at surviving.

Just get Gatorskins and use Mr. Tuffy's tire liners if you want even more protection.

-1. I had bad experiences with tire liners - the liner's sharp edge ended up cutting the tube after a couple of months.

Tire liners from what I know have been proven to punture tires from the edges cutting into the tube. I know there are tons of people who swear by them. If you have them and they work for you and you (I mean you in general, not you kimconyc) are sold on them then go for it.
