Rear rack with basket

Wald folding baskets are awesome... But a little noise I have noticed. But if you don't mind keeping rhythm they are pretty dang sweet.

Also I have a small, soft pouch that sits between the rear of the baskets and over the rear slope of the rear fender (It's a soft case for a Polaroid camera!) It has a velcro flap and I keep a pair of "reusable" cloth grocery bags in there to help carry smaller items that would normally fall through the basket.
Not to hijack the thread, but here is a bf entry about my baskets:

I finally got a rear rack, a Planet Bike K.O.K.O.
It mounted up easy breezy with plenty of clearance from the brake.
Now I have to sort out the basket and mounting the rear light.

Just a follow up to say that the zip tie suggestion seems like a better plan than I first thought. I think the 372 zip ties I used should hold the rack in place through the next hurricane.
I did install 3/8" I.D. fuel hose to be a buffer between the rack and the "breakfast" basket I installed. Quiet and solid.
Thanks for all the feedback y'all gave in this thread. It is much appreciated.

Looks good! For what it's worth my daily commuter / utility bike went for some years having only a steel rod rear-rack (complete with that useless mouse-trap thing) and a plastic crate of some sort zip-tied to hell and back on it. Not sure what kind of crate it was - as memory serves it was like a hybrid between a proper milk crate and those things you see 2L soda bottles on. Yours will work much better, I suspect - if you want to replace those zip ties, something like cable or hose clamps might work, since you've bulked up the rack with those grommets.

I did finally get a new rear light for that rack. It's a Planet Bike Grateful Red. Quite sizeable and plenty bright for the type of night riding I do.

The most credible reason for it I've heard is that it secured older style panniers that draped over the rear rack. I think I used it to hold a small flat box of something, once, as a lark.

That makes a lot of sense. Funny thing is, back in the day when the mouse trap was common I never saw panniers on a bicycle. But, I was young and didn't get out in the bicycle world that much.
