Would you use a rear-mounted kickstand on this bike?

In my experience the rear axle kickstand works on everything but a bike with front and rear panniers. Seems like the extra weight on the front will cause the bike to tip if the bars are turned to either the right or the left when parked. It'll be hard to find a parked position for the bike where it's not likely to go over.

I use some of those thicker elastic bands that women buy for their hair, use those to hold my front brake lever if the front wheel wants to roll when I put my bike on a stand.

I can't use a kickstand on my folding bike, it won't fit on the frame. Instead I use a cut-down tent pole to lean it against, similar to a clickstand. And I have to use an elastic band when I do that to lock the front wheel. In the second photo below I cropped the photo so it is easier to see the elastic I am talking about.

that kept the front wheel pointed ahead.. when parked..

Is it capable of slipping into the locked position while riding? That would be rather troublesome if it was.

Here's the Voyageur w/Bontrager kickstand deployed.
Since starting my next bicycle expedition next June is a distinct possibility, I have started to train for that ride.
Training for me means carrying four gallons of water plus the four Ortleibs (15lbs all by themselves!) plus the usual commute stuff plus the bicycle, an all-up weight of around 100lbs.
So, for the next six months I ride around like I usually do except on a 100lb bicycle
Well, at least the kickstand works. On a level surface with that load the front wheel can be rotated freely through the full range of motion and left in any position without the bicycle tipping over. Only downside is the telescoping kickstand is locked at any given setting by a thin wire piece resembling a paper clip disengaged by pressing a flimsy-looking red plastic button, if any of that fails the bike would just fall over. I think I'll just drill it and put in a bolt and nut to to hold the kickstand at that length extension.
I tried to make my '95 Hardrock work as a touring bike as well as the Voyageur, but that Voyageur frame settles down so much and provides such a stable and smooth ride under load there's really no contest.

There were times when my bike would start to roll the rear wheel forward if I did not lock my front wheel, when that happened the kickstand could fold up. I always noticed it was unstable before it completely rolled off of the kickstand, so it never fell over. But I found that when I parked it with the bike aiming down hill, it could roll off the stand. That might be an issue for you too?
With the type of brake levers you have you probably can't use an elastic like I can to lock your front wheel. Before I started using the elastic, I used a piece of double sided velcro to lock my front wheel as shown in the photo.
