Half-Iron Distance 70.3 Duathlons: Where are they?
Hi all,
I'm looking to compete in some half-Iron distance (1.2mi run, 56mi bike, 13.1mi run) duathlons. I'm not worried about them being part of the Ironman 70.3 series or not, but if they are that's a plus. I'm in Memphis, TN and so far the closest one I can find is at the Augusta, GA 70.3, which is 9 hours from me. I found a few in Florida too, but those are also a bit too far away.
Anyone know of any other 70.3 duathlons? I'm trying to find one that might be a little closer to me. The two closest Ironman 70.3 races to me are New Orleans and Branson; anyone know if either of these events host a 70.3 du as well? From what I can tell, they don't appear to, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Thanks for any help!

there are very few duathlons overall, in fact I am surprised that Augusta 70.3 also hosts a du. Are you sure that there is a du there?
Probably advice you don't want to hear, but learn to swim, or get over whatever is causing you to not swim, if at all possible. If not possible, well, good luck.

I have no trouble finding plenty of Olympic or sprint distance du's, I'm just having a hard time finding a 70.3. It's not so much about avoiding the swim, as much as I just like duathlon much better.
I looked at trimapper.com... Very nice site, but I'm failing to see anything specifically about duathlons on there. Am I not looking hard enough?
Thanks all for the help!
