Dig the chainguard on this early Schwinn.

Facebook WI Schwinn

Very Early Schwinn World $300 Mequon, WI

Arnold Schwinn & Company Schwinn “World” girls motorbike made somewhere between 1919 and 1932 (Schwinn does not have production records for these years). Original rear fold-up kickstand and pedals, fancy chain guard and chrome fenders with holes in rear fender for skirt guard; vintage whitewall tires though not original to the bike; original handlebars and leather Troxel saddle. In Pridemore & Hurd's 2001 "Schwinn Bicycles" book, p. 41, there is an ad for World Bicycles and the "Ladies Model 103 is very similar to mine except that my saddle and front truss fork rods match the men's Motorbike Model 110 next to it, so I think my bike is the girls Model 110. In "Evolution of the Bicycle" a bike very similar to this appears on p. 52 but it's a 1919 Hawthorne, again without the same saddle or front rods. I am downsizing my possessions so am looking to sell this bike.

Good on ya!

I looked and thought that there was no way that someone would build a hybrid out of Ti. It makes sense if it is the same company that built Airborne's. I rode an Airborne Zeppelin once. It rode great, handled nicely, but it was awful looking -- it reminded me of one of those camel crickets.

The tubes are round so it's not a Master

Maybe a Specialissimo?

Veloce and Centaur are nice enough I guess

What's the shipping charge?

Allegedly Sheldon Brown's actual bike. No price.

CL Chicago Sheldon Brown

Sheldon Brown’s original Raleigh Competition “Superbe” vintage famous - $1 (Chicago)

This is Sheldon Brown’s iconic Raleigh competition “Superbe”

If you don’t already know what that is- this bike is not for you. But you can learn everything you need to know about it on the website.

Purchased from Sheldon’s estate shortly after his passing, this custom built masterpiece is exactly as it appears on the website. The bag and wooden standoff are included but not in this particular photo.

It has been ridden sparingly over the years and nothing has been altered. The ride is great! The condition is as it was when in the creator’s hands. Originally built in Massachusetts, I have enjoyed this on rides in Chicago, Santa Barbara, and the ABCE bike tour. It has literally been all over the country.

Please respond only with time you would like to see this bike.

Some kind of Oria for these Forma models if I remember correctly. There was a special one with Moser's signature on it for sale here about a month ago. Forgot who it was but the same model as this one.

Thanks, learned something today. Seller replied with Boxing fee $100, and shipping fee i need to find out based on zip codes, fair enough. I need to see if anyone in WI can facilitate this. Thanks again for the quick evaluation on the model

Hi, this one has the straight Precisa fork that was introduced in 1989. Looks like a nice Colnago but I am not sure about the model.
