I have the VO Mojave (larger version of this) on two of our Treks and they not only look appropriate, they hold a ton of water in a Nalgene or insulated bottle of your choice. They are adjustable which is handy at preventing this from happening again...
No further ejections happened after adjusted properly. Good thing Nalgenes are tough...

This looks like a TA copy, a take-off from the Guerciotti SL that I'm working on. Marked "Cobra Italy". This was attached to the bike with velcro and a pipe clamp. Not sure if that was the correct method of attachment then or now. I have some other attachments that I think will work clamping the wire bits, when I get another candidate for this.

The Zefal cage with a bit of blacksmithing works reasonably well- I bent the top 15mm or so up( in) to catch the bottle better.
In the 70’s The welded cages came in chrome, black anno with gold plastic or silver anno Wit black plastic.
the Cobra cages were crimped- got loose
the crimped TA cages were after my bike shop time.
I like the King cages, the Silca cages, the Cuissi inox cage- not the colored aluminum ( too thick) the cuissi cages are not the easiest to figure out a clamp mount.
TA steel are scarce- too bad - they were like $3.00 in the early 70’s!
even more scarce are the TA handlebar mount cages

You're talking about the Zefal steel cage? I've read some so so reviews of it but I may try it. The VO retro cage also works well and is around the same price.

I have been able to get into the co-op and look at the cages there. I didn't see any T.A. branded, but plenty of copies. Surprisingly, most were silver with white, so, let me know if you want me to grab one. I'll be looking for black drop bars in 25.4 at some point.
