Folding Tire Storage?

I have quite a few folding tires that have lots of life left in them. But I have been neglectful and have them in a heap on the basement floor.
So what is a good way to store them?
Thanks!

Fold them, put them in a box, keep them away from heat and ozone.

But I’ll do the “do they spark joy” questions.

Do they really have a lot of life left in them?
If yes, are you really going to use them?
If not, does your local coop take used tires (and there's lots of good reasons for them not to)?
If yes, bring them your local coop that will use them.

Otherwise, upcycle them, recycle them, or "store" them in your rubbish bin.

Plus, keep them away from sunlight and harsh chemicals.

A black plastic garbage bag will do.

Mine are in a black plastic garbage bag under my bed. Black: no light damage. Bag: reduces ozone exposure. Under bed: temperature excursions are minor (compared to the other possible choice, in the garage). Also far away from ozone generators (see also: refrigerator, freezer, table saw, etc.).

I hang 'em from a plastic hanger in the junk closet. They just sorta dangle like weird noodles. The wire bead tires are standing on edge on the floor in that closet. Mostly I keep some unloved tires for use on the Cycleops trainer.

And I have one good Schwalbe One V-Guard folded and secured with a long Velcro strap to strap under my road bike saddle bags as a spare for long solo rural rides. But I've never actually had a tire fail so it's probably unnecessary. Only weighs about 250 gm so no big deal for longer casual rides.

Lots of folding tires with some life left in them????

As in used tires?

I save one and toss the used ones as I use them to the point I don't trust them any longer. Not willing to take a risk flying down a hill or mountain at 35 MPH.

The one I kept for emergencies at the time I kept one around. I used it as an emergency tire as my wife drove support for a local forum ride one day. I actually gave it away to some lady with a split tire. Better than what she had and finished the ride with it.

I just wonder why someone would not use a tire to the point of worn then toss it?

I myself buy extras and keep a stash of "new tires" in the box, in a bag and inside a storage tub to keep them from the elements.

I have used tires in a storage bin too because sometimes I just can't wait until the tire is worn out for an excuse to tinker on my bikes. I have some new Warden's for my MTB that have been driving me crazy because the darn tires I have on it now just aren't wearing fast enough. Next warm day they'll find themselves in the used tire bin

A garden hose hanger works well, but tucked away is better if there are any ozone issues.

I use a wheel bag for tubulars waiting their turn...
