5 years of commuting today
Today is my 5th anniversary of bike commuting. I started out riding once a week, on dress-down Fridays and soon was riding 2, 3, 4 and sometimes 5 days a week. My original commute was 22 miles round trip but has increased to 30 miles with my office moving to a new location last fall. Here are a few stats:
- 18,421 total miles commuting since April 2007
- 789 commute trips
- 921 gallons of gasoline saved
- 10.36 tons of CO2 prevented

Wow! Congratulations! It's amazing how little things can accumulate to major changes over time.

Yes, congratulations! I'm closing in on 10 years of year round commuting, May 15th, I think. I'll post here with my reflections on my experience. Keep it up.

Congratulations!
I have about 9 years now, not including a couple of years off when I lived in South Korea and lived so close to work it took less time to walk there than I now take to ride.

Congrats! I just realized I hit the 21 year mark this month. It all started with a stay-at-home mom with a young kid wanting occasional use of our only car during the day to get out of the apartment, plus a co-worker convincing me that a 13 mile round trip commute was certainly doable...

Congrats! I just rolled my commuter over 27,000 miles, I started I think in 2004. My commute is also 22 miles though I often stretch it in the summer to 26 or so miles.

Very cool! My fifth anniversary is also some time this month, I think, though I don't know the date.
