I know I know but I can't do that color, its freaking ugly. Can't they make one in a generic black or white?

I think they also do the Pista in black and/or silver. Probably a special order because if you're buying Bianchi, you're buying celeste.

i think that's the sign for 'go with a different brand.'

if i could have any italian bike out there (current model) i think i'd choose a de rosa.

thanks guys I figured out they make a black one!

I'd like to get at least one bike that my shop carries haha. I'm excited, track is gonna be fun! I think the build will go slowly though, just starting with the frame now.

Bizarre. Watching a movie and some woman (Who turns out has Australian accent) comes to the house. I'm pretty much in the middle of no where here, so seeing someone walk up the driveway is unusual. Dogs go nuts. Turns out she and her husband are staying at a house around the corner and buried their car in a berm off the precipitous driveway in the snow. Tried to help them out, but they're in need of a serious tow.

That course is protected from wind (of which there was none anyway) so fields tend to stick together, and, as a weeknighter there are a wide range of skillsets even within the 3-4 or p123 field. Result - a bit of sketchiness. Nothing too bad, most everyone is a regular but, racing happens.

This all by way of context. After the p123 race, rolling around cooling down, I'm eavesdropping on a couple of the "p1" guys chatting about the above topic and one says "yeah what's with guys not following etiquette in the pack" ?

I kind of did a mental full stop ... "etiquette" ... in a race? Sure in a group ride... but what's etiquette in a race? Is it simply "ride safe, no sudden movements" or is there more"?

You guys know I've been racing a while... know my way around a field... what am I missing?
One thing I see with younger riders, collegiate in particular, is the incessant need to fight for wheels. At the end of the race, no problem, every man for himself. I'm talking about 15 minutes into an hour+ race and these jabrones are pushing and bumping and half wheeling and leaning and pulling every trick in the book to make sure they're behind their teammate or their marked rider. Give it a rest.

Got the new wheels, Velocity A23/White Industries hubs, mounted new tires. My hands are killing me. Emotion rollers tore up my Pro4 Endurance tires. The rubber basically started to separate from the casing. Would have been interesting if it would have let go. Not impressed with that, might have to use the pit wheels and sacrifice those tires if this is the norm. Had to adjust the headset as well, totally unrelated to the wheel swap, but necessary none the less.

A plus is the brake track is bang on and only requires a pad swap and QR adjustments.

I don't really do this but I have in a few races to practice. If your only practice is at the end of the race then you're gonna be blowing it every time. Not all of us have a thousand races under our belts

that's abnormal. i use those rollers daily from november through april. one great thing is that they are *not* hard on tires, as a trainer can be.

something is odd there.

thanks for the additional core suggestions, valygrl, gsteinb, and fat boy!

The rear was way worse, not sure. This may be reason to try conti GP4000 next. I've got 3 Pro4End left.

Air pressure? You have to go max on air pressure to prevent the tire from curling around the small-diameter-relative-to-the-diameter-of-the-earth rollers.

I noticed one time when i was doing ftp work ( had tire pressure at around 60 psi) my tires were burning hot after the interval session. Didn't want to try that again.

I thought about the air pressure thing too. Wonder if using carbon wheels would add to the heat issue? I've been using carbon clincher, but now have alloy clincher on the bike.

you really shouldn't be generating that much heat on rollers. I've been on emotions for a lot of years now and have never seen anything like you're speaking of. What PSI are you guys running?

Between 90 - 100 psi, but I'm an extreme lightweight...
