Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of miserables , Les Miserables on PBS with Dominic West ( The Affair and The wire) is quite good.

Dominic was so great on The Wire. It still throws me for a loop when he opens his mouth and a voice other than Jimmy's comes out.

I brought home a rescue Labrador retriever puppy. Later bought my wife a nice Coach purse. The two didn't mix well.

Yes, I will feel dirty forevermore running a non crabon seatpost but desperate times call for desperate measures.

My wife wants the garage painted and says that I've put it off long enough so I moved half of the stuff in the garage so I can paint one side and filled all of the nail holes (plaster walls). I'm getting ready to ride and my wife wants to know where I'm going. Told her that i have to wait for the sparkling to dry but if she wants to start on the trim while I'm out riding, go ahead.

Nice work. I miss my garage and hope the new owners did all the maintenance I “deferred.”

Just to make sure that my wife gets the trimming done before I get home, I stopped mid-ride for a turkey chef salad and now stopped again for an Americano. Another hour or so and she should be done.
