Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Gp 5000

I'm setting up a second set of hoops, and mounted the 700 x 25 GP 5000 tires on them. One big difference between these and the GP 4000s II is the width. The older tires always ran big, but the new models seem to run true to size. Looking forward to getting some miles on them and the new hoops this weekend.

The height seems normal, if there is such a thing. I can take a measurement, if you'd like. But on my frame they come nowhere close to rubbing (2017 Roubaix).

I've got a couple of rides in on the new wheels and tires, and, well, love them. HUGE improvement over the stock ST Swiss 470db wheels. They ride nice, roll easy, and seem to have no bad habits. Granted, I'll know more when a few hundred miles in, but initial impressions are very positive. That goes for the tires, as well. Sticky and nice riding.

I just mounted 5000s on a new set of Zondas today, I was actually able to install them with just my hands and no levers. Pretty stoked about that, easiest tire installation I've ever done.

I was able to get them on using just bare hands, but the last few inches were tight. Regardless, these tires really ride and handle nice.
