50-39-30 crank set

Does the SHIMANOFC-2403 50/39/30T have an option to come with crank guard? Looked in a few lbs abd online & only found them without the cg.
Was thinking that or the Shimano Sora FC-R3030 Crankset as a secondary option.

Seems like you could find the answer as easily as we could buy using your web browser. Roger

Please ignore the previous reponses. Daylight savings time makes some folks grumpy.

Are you looking for a bash ring (or bash guard) to go on the outside of the big ring? I doubt the cranks you are looking at will come stock with those. You will probably need to go with an aftermarket solution.

Can't imagine why anyone needs a bash ring on a road triple. That said it's easy enough to take off the 53 and grind it down to serve as a bash ring. We did this all the time on mt. triples that we found served no purpose.

No, he's looking for the thin plastic crank guard, which is pretty common on German touring bikes, as with others, not exactly hard to search for, and as it will be a Shimano small part, probably easiest to go to an LBS if you can't do the searching yourself.

The part is on the PDF https://si.shimano.com/pdfs/ev/EV-FC-2403-3483.pdf

part #

Y1P209000 Chain Guard (Silver)
or
Y1NB12000 Chain Guard (Black)

BBGBashGuard usually has a good selection, but I'm not seeing a thing on their web page.

jimc101 you are correct for the part I'm looking for to come equipped with a crankset.

If I could find a triple [50-39-30] that comes with the guard already afixed, that'd be the best route. Grinding down a bigger ring still would require a spacer in between the 50T ring as to not throw back the chain when shifting out to the 50T ring. Not that I am not able to make the parts, it just adds more complexity to it all. If a crankset already exists with the guard, then that saves for the unnecessary creativity.

Why can't you just order the part separately? that's what the part numbers are for.

Go to an LBS and ask them if you can. you now have all the part numbers.

A bigger question would be can you actually even order it now, it's a generation old, and has been replaced by the R2000 series, with the current triple crank offered being the FC-R2030, which is of a totally different design to the FC-2403. Would suspect the FC-2403 manufacture has stopped, and all that is available is what is still in the supply chain.

That is nice looking. Simple & would look good with everything.

I ordered the crank set without guard & a la carte ordered the guard with the aforementioned p/n from the pdf.
Thank you.

Considering the ES51 Octalink V2 68x121-mm bottom bracket over the "recommended" ES25.

I’m sorry, is my totally free help not up to your standards?

What linked to is a one month delivery time.

International shipping time has amazed me in the past with some orders. Maybe it'll be the case this time around too. haha

Thanks all for the feedback.

I'm sorry if no one is allowed to suggest an alternative or cheaper option.

I gave a suggestion, which was significantly cheaper, also saying it was a very basic search (as in the potential purchases should try to search for even cheaper), the choice of where to buy will be made by a purchaser on multiple choices, price, delivery/lead time, potential additional charges to suggest a few; from your comment, I guess you always go for the most expensive option you can with same-day delivery, and good for you, again sorry for hurting your feelings, I hope you haven't melted too much.
