Normal for Shimano DA C24 wheels?
I received my Shimano Dura Ace C24 wheels and noticed how the front wheel did not look right. My Shimano RS500 wheels are perfect in comparison. I have informed the vendor and am waiting for their solution. I am bummed because I spent the extra money expecting superior quality...

File it down if it really bothers you. It's nothing more than a cosmetic imperfection. The brake track looks fine and that's the important thing.
Not everything can be perfect.

Looking at the pictures, it looks to me like someone did a really sloppy welding and filing down the weld. However, I'm not sure if these rims are welded or pinned, and if they're pinned its probably just a bad rim and the seller should replace it

When you pay for quality, you expect it. Is that too much to ask? What if my filing ruins the wheel? I'm not touching it...it's going back...

It appears to have been damaged in shipping and assuming it was sold as brand new I agree that the vendor you bought it from should replace it.

I do not think it was shipping damage. The box that the wheels arrived in were in great shape. Like Matt said in the above post it looks like a horrible welding and filing job. Again, not what you would expect on Shimano's Dura Ace line. I should have stated that the wheels were bought brand new.

That's a bummer. Hopefully the seller makes things right.

If you are this bothered by cosmetic imperfections I suggest you buy things you can inspect in person first. I like Peter White's ordering policy on cosmetics (scroll to the bottom) Ordering from Peter White Cycles

*Sigh* this is why I don't work in customer service. You asked if it was normal. I'm sure I have rims that are as bad or worse than that, though they might not say Dura Ace on them. Once you mount a tire and put it on the bike you will never even see it.

This is beyond cosmetics. The front wheel is defective from the factory. Peter White would agree.
