Looking for budget builder for a Kaisei Toei Fork
I want a narrow semi sloping continental crown such as a Cinelli.
It will be a threadless steerer.
I will have braze ons for center pull brakes.
Got any recommendations? Do not tell me you get what you pay for.
I am on the west coast of Canada.

How many times have some of us had this asked of (sub the trendy material/tube spec of the day)?
While I can't fault the OP from seeking their dream I do take some issue with a combination of a custom spec with a budget cost. Let alone whether said spec is reasonable for the use or rider. Perhaps more info about both might help those who might consider reducing our earnings for your project. Andy

I don't know what people charge for forks any more. $400 U.S. used to be pretty standard. I would email Hahn Rossman and just suck up the price. There is a limited universe of builders that are going to do a good job with those blades. https://www.rossmancycles.com/

Had a fork built for me a year or so ago by a local builder. The frames he makes are OK, not fantastical, but OK. The welding is acceptable, pricing reasonable. The fork he built for me is sitting on a shelf as I do not trust the crown to the steerer attachment. Additionally, there is a deep undercut in one of the blades at the crown from when he was cleaning it up. Gonna say it cause I lived it, you get what you pay for.
Get someone with a proven track record to build the thing. Don't cheap out.

last I looked at fork prices was probably 10 years ago.

$400 seems to be at the low end at least for Igleheart.

I always thought it was too low. And most people that get Toei blades would want a lot of braze ons, which might add up to $200

Unterhausen, the fork was unpainted and made from standard cromo stuff, unspecified tubing and and Everest crown. 250 bucks. Tuition payed on a lesson well learned.
