Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

New - Niner RLT9 Steel

Well, this looks pretty great.

Niner: RLT 9 Steel All-Road Bike - The Radavist

RLT 9 STEEL

I had been weighing between the Surly Straggler, Kona Rove, and All-City Space Horse for a new steel gravel/light touring/offroad bike - but this is super tempting, even at a (much) higher price point. Reynolds 853. Carbon fork. Huge tire clearance. Can't wait to ride one.

I love 853 steel, and the geometry on that bike looks great. One thing I don't understand, and maybe I'm just missing something, it appears to have a rear thru-axle but not front. I don't understand that.

I was curious, too. Niner has addressed this on Facebook -

"[T]hat's a very good question. We wanted to offer fender mounts on the fork, and our current thru axle fork (found on the BSB 9 RDO) is not fender compatible, so we used the existing RLT 9 fork which uses a QR. All of our steel bikes use a thru axle on the rear to resist twisting of the smaller diameter stays."

Love this color scheme.

I like the frame price as well at $1,499.

Super tempting.

Anyone have one of these? If I can fit my 650x42b or 650x47b tires I'd love to switch to internal DI2 routing...

Ridden a friend's quite a few times and liked it just fine.

I ended up with a BMC Monstercross frameset at half the price.

Much better value. Imho
