SOLD. Vintage 1984 VITUS 979 vintage race bike 58.5ST 56.5TT / Full Campagnolo Record

SOLD

Excellent Vitus 979 with all original Campagnolo Record components and Vitus pantographed seatpost. Original brake hoods need to be replaced and there is some wear on the bike. Wheel nipples and rim eyelets show some oxidation from storage. Condition is accurately shown in photos. Happy to provide more photos and answer any questions prior to sale. Bike rides wonderfully and would be perfect for a L'Eroica event.

Serial Number E050095

Here's the very long read on the history of the 979 frame: https://on-the-drops.blogspot.com/20...vitus-979.html

Beaut. That V decal on the seat tube is curious. Very reminiscent of Viner.

Was just re-constructing my wall hanging in the garage so I could add two or three more bikes vertical, sat and admired my Pro Mark I (pics as-bought here) which is sporting roughly the same frame.

It rides really awesome. Whoever gets this won't be disappointed! I really like the way the larger sizes of these frames ride.
