Anyone have actual pictures of Shimano 105 R7000 in silver? Lots of bikes with black 105, but all I can find of the silver version is marketing pics. Thanks.

I put a new group on my Ti Litespeed last year and used silver 105 5800. I don't know if it's the same as R7000 but I'll take some pix tomorrow and post them. Anything in particular you want me to focus on?

Again, this is 5800 in silver. Not an exact match to the Ti frame, but it's fine with me. Also notice that the groupset isn't a polished finish, it's more of a matte finish.

Thanks, Brad. Litespeed looks great. Trying to figure out how much of 105 7000 is polished and how much is matte. I prefer polished parts (Dura Ace 7800 crank is my favorite, but its 10 speed and there's no compact). I suspect the color scheme of 7000 is much like 5800.

Maybe substitute a 105 5650 crank? Or heck, the whole gruppo. It's compact, and 10 gears is enough, IMO.

Yeah, but I'm looking for pictures that people took in real life, not marketing pictures. I want to see what it looks like on a bike. Does it shine in the sun?

Yeah, that's a consideration. 5600 cranks look great. However, if I get 11 speed 105, I'd like keep have a 11 speed crank. And I want 105 because it has disc brakes. Decisions.

Over a year too late, but you're talking disc brakes....

I like the "silver" 5800 and the 7000, but they are not silver, they are grey. And therefore I consider them a modern alternative to the commonplace black. They should by no means, IMO, be used to build up a modern retro look because they just do not work for that. I'm actually surprised no manufacturer has embraced the grey and produced a bike with matching cockpit pieces. Or maybe I'm not surprised. IMO Ritchey's new Logic disc with the retro build look (you've seen the black pics online?) makes my eyes bleed. Discs are not retro and cannot be made to look so. Silver/grey should be modern if used with discs.

I believe someone could built a nice modern rim braked bike with this new grey stuff providing they use a frameset that suits the components which, to me, means a modern rim brake frameset: not an old one.

Here's my '16 Kona Roadhouse using the 5800 "silver" (at least the 5800 had polished accents where the 7000 is 100% grey). I feel the Roadhouse works with the 4 arm crankset as it really is a modern steel frame, with a larger diameter downtube, big tapered headtube, sloped top tube (but not stupidly so) and the bladed fork. I also used the new 7000 series "silver" calipers. Black would have looked just fine and it did have black calipers until about a year ago.

I went out of my way to find a wheelset with silver hubs (older DT DB23's) without having to have one built, thus this whole build tied in and was (relatively) cheap.
