DC area - bike shop inventory auction - includes tools and stands

For folks who want to equip their home workshops, this going out of business auction includes a lot of tools, stands, parts etc.
Also a lot of bikes and accessories.

Sad to see another one bite the dust, but probably great deals for those in the area. I cleaned up when Performance went out of business in socal, but not as much as an individual who purchased 13 bikes at closeout prices.

It seemed like a good shop. I would feel like an ambulance chaser going into such a place. Hopefully there was a happy reason for such an abrupt end.

When a local bike shop failed several years ago, I went to their "Going Out of Business" sale which promised great bargains. There weren't any. The liquidator company running the sale had a few loss-leader items widely advertised to lure in buyers but these were gone in a few minutes and everything else was, at best, 20% off.

In September my daughter and I picked up a pair of pink shoes at this shop. The fella working the store was really nice, a former lobbyist now doing something he loved to do, and told me this was going to take place. Seems the landlord raised the rent and they opted to close it down come the new year. It didn't fail, but simply moving on.

There is some nice stuff there for sale and since they won't ship (I emailed and they said no shipping), there might be some really good deals.

Most of he inventory is bistro oriented, and the few gems like the fizik saddle is priced at wholesale. Items like display cabinets are of little to no value unless you have a storefront. In four days some lucky new coffee shop start up will have a great deal on some SS sinks and fridges. Smiles, MH
