I'll Fly Away
Well, it seemed like the right music of this video of us going over Onyx pass to Big Bear and back.
Beautiful day in the mountains. *sigh*
The interesting thing is that it demonstrates how often I wag my head to look behind me ... more often than I thought!

Lol ... C'mon down and we'll show you a good time.
The riding was spectacular ... as was both kinds of natural scenery.

Nicely done video, thanks for posting! Quick question, our daughter lives in San Diego and is lobbying hard for us to relocate into the area. We're kind of looking north of SD. How far are the San Bernadinos from SD?

We still sing that in church now and then. One of my favorites.

And yea ... over Onyx Pass to Big Bear and back. What a beautiful ride!
MikeD1: Poway to Redlands (the base of the San Gabriels) is about 100 miles. There is some great riding and pretty good skiing up there most years.

Thanks for posting. I'm incredibly jealous of the scenery -- nothing but straight roads here.

I have so many wonderful I'll Fly Away recordings on my phone.
But my favorite so far has to be a trio of high school students, uke, viola, and drum box. (Sorry, didn't think to record it.)
BTW, if you mount the camera on the handlebars, you get to see waggle. And if you mount the camera on helmet, get to see every head check.

That must have been recorded at the south pole. No matter which way you turn, you're going north.

When I visit my in-laws and am riding the MUP along the beach in Orange County or Long Beach, the danger isn't from the hardcore cyclists, they tend to stick to the PCH. The danger is the cyclists who, while going fairly slowly, spend too much time not looking where they are going because they are looking at scantily clad women. One of the worst bike wrecks I ever witnessed was triggered when a rider turned his head too long to admire a woman on the sidewalk going the other way. Admittedly, she was attractive enough that maybe if she had visited him in the hospital, it would have been worth it, but she remained a stranger, she never even knew she was the cause of the wreck.
Let me know, however, if there are safe methods for head wagging to check out women. This is the 50+ Dirty Old Man subforum, right?

^ Lol ... you bet.
The surreptitious behavior is safe when practiced off the bike ... you know ... rest stops and the like.
So ashamed ...

No, that's in Trollheim. Feel free to post about checking out butts in there. It doesn't really belong in 50+.
