Wrong group, wrong color? For $500 I'd want Gipiemme, at least.

Related question: Are their bikes worthwhile? I'm familiar with their skate stuff, curious about their bikes. May have a line on one that's 15ish years old and in the lower 3-figure range.

This appears to be early 90s Record and not C-Record, but the Deltas and an SLX frame are good for the money.

I think some Recherches were Moultons but without a SN, can't verify from the ad.

Dave built all of these, they are the same as a Fuso with less flourish. This one has been listed before and for a long time, overpriced imo.

AND it has a big ding in the TT DS right in front of the cable curve end in pic 3.

I sent an email to the seller awhile back explaining that anyone that is interested, won't be after they see that and wonder why it wasn't in the ad.

Here's an eBay auction for a fake Cannondale CaaD4 Saeco.

Anyone that knows these bikes would recognize right away that the cantilevered rear dropouts are not correct, and that the CaaD4 distinctive hourglass-shaped seat-stays are missing. Also the brake cable was not routed across the top of the top tube on CaaD4s, etc. Clearly a fake.

Can't swear by this, but it looks like an early to mid-90s Cannondale 3.0, which was decent bike. But not $800.00 decent. They can be had in my market for about 200.00 all day. In addition to the paint job this one has been upgraded to some STIs. Who knows what-all else. I think they started as 7 speeds and may have been 9 speeds in the end, but who knows what this thing has.

I will say that this is one of the most faked paint jobs I have seen. The Cannondale community is full of people respraying bikes, but more than that creating fakes. Not really withy the intention of reselling, but what they don't realize is that eventually they will sell. Whatever! Do what you want people.

But if you want a bike so bad you'll strip one and repaint it as what you want why not go out and get the real thing? They are practically growing on trees and can be had in excellent condition south of $700.00. You'll never be satisfied with your own fake. You'll always know its fake. I just do not understand this need to waste time and money stripping and 'resto-modding' bikes. In the end this is an old, stiff, definitely uncomfortable aluminum bike with a bunch of pretty much obsolete parts. If you like that kind of thing why make it into something its not.

I did send a polite message to the seller that this is not a CaaD4 and that it is a fake. I sent a bunch of information that would help him verify it. Let's see if he persists in this charade.

LOL.

Anyway, FWIW, buyer beware.

Here's how you get a free Suntour Cyclone first Gen rear derailleur ... given you can flip a $150 bike.

They seem to be well regarded. I am not sure this one is legit for some reason. Can’t put my finger on it...

I unfortunately stumbled across this ‘88 Trofeo/Limited on Facebook market place and now it is burning a hole in my wallet. I need it like a hole in my head but I wouldn’t mind having a Formula II frame again. Too bad the “restorer” put the decals on wrong and didn’t get the tubing ones or the stay cap and crown decals too. Actually the decals were made wrong

Viner may be one of the better picks of the lot in this batch.

While I was digging in an effort to figure out the value on the SC someone's dangling in front of me, I found they have a pretty extensive archive for their bikes dating back 15-20 years: https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-US/archive/bikes

Out of the lot shown in the archive area, looks like the Jackal is the only one incorporating a straight line from head tube to dropout, with BMX stylings. But I noticed a lot of the SC bikes seem to use rectangular or non-round chainstays, which the ike you pictured has. white/gold paint on the fork caps suggests repaint. Styling/tubing suggest early late 80s/early 90s bike to me. I suspect a fake, but clearly I'm not an expert with this brand nor much else

1981 Colnago Super Frame & Fork / Campagnolo Headset - 57cm - $750 (Pawtucket)

1981 Colnago Super Frameset 57 cm / Campagnolo Headset

I've owned this frameset for over 12 years, and most of that time is has been on the shelf. Formerly built up with Campy Nuovo & Super Record components. Paint is chipped in some spots, and I believe the previous owner repainted the top tube, but the integrity of the frame is still great. Stickers are also wearing off in some spots. Chrome fork with clover stamps on the crown. Classic Colnago cutout on the bottom bracket as well. Headset bearings were just replaced and this beast is ready to be rebuilt. I'm also selling the full Campy Super/Nuovo Record groupset it was formerly built up with. No lowballers, but reasonable offers entertained. Cash or venmo only.

I'm in Pawtucket, RI, ~45 min from Boston.

56cm TT
57cm ST CTC
142 mm HT

Seat post diameter - 27.0mm

Rear dropout clearance - 126mm
Fork dropout clearance - 100mm
