Ah, fair point. I didn't look closely enough. The brake bridge is a giveaway too, upon further inspection.

NOLA is crazy and somewhat scary to ride in. Bad roads too.

That's good to know. Last trip in August I didn't bring my bike so I didn't pay much attention. When I was planning my wedding in 2011 it was horrendous. My then wife was struck by a car, who never stopped. Everyone on the streets just kept going as if nothing happened. It was like twilight zone. Have they created more bike lanes?

Street resurfacing and bike lanes have improved things a lot in recent years. Most of the city is pretty well networked, you can see on google maps.
But yeah seriously. Hit and run is pretty commonplace. Many ghost bikes around. And though a lot of drivers are stupid and/or have no respect, I have to say it's not always their fault.

Despite all that, I still love the place. Especially the food. Restaurant August was by and large the best dining experience I've ever had.

Yeah you right. I still live here, and I don't even eat at August very often.

^^^ I love the juxtaposition of the large saddle to bar drop and the high heels on the woman.

Plot twist: the owner of that bike is that woman. She just wasn't able to step out the picture in time.
