1989 RB-1, red, 51cm, Boulder, CO $400

A local thrift store has a very original RB-1 up for sale although the price is not at thrift store levels. I still remember the good ol' days when every bike was $14.95, including the smoked chrome Vent Noir II I found. Still, if this is a grail bike for you let me know and we can go from there. It has GPX equipment and some paint nicks (chain stay and fork crown are the worst) but it's in good shape overall.

I almost want to contact him for clarification.

Fwiw I would like to have a Quickbeam, but I have seen them at a more budget friendly price than this one.

I have never seen a Riv (or higher end bridgestone) at a friendly price. Their owners never seem eager to sell them (speaks well of them). They usually seem to enjoy a significant premium over a similar quality/equipped bike.

Aaron,
I wouldn't let mine go cheap either. I should have grabbed the Quickbeam on our local CL last fall. Only $900.

This is begging to be added to the drop bar MTB thread...beautiful frame IMO.

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

Custom 1989 Trek 950 Single Track bicycle, good condition, ready to ride. 5ft 10in - 6ft 2in. Frame made with True Temper steel in the USA.

Capable of accommodating 26in wheel set with canti or v-brakes and 700c with caliper brakes. The last photo is the touring setup and the rest of the photos show how it is being sold as more of a hybrid

That Quickbeam has two chainrings. When approaching a steep hill, the rider can dismount and drop the chain onto the small ring by hand or with a twig from the side of the road. True, I swear!

Every time I see a Quickbeam it reminds me of Sheldon Brown's. A little funky with the tires but still classic.

Mid 80's Peugeot PY10FC with Campy parts

Were the downtube shifters swapped for brifters or did the bike have that as original equipment?

Tweaked Raleigh Superbe

1970's Raleigh Superbe
1970's Raleigh Superbe - $300 (Fan area) < >

(google map) (yahoo map)

condition: good
make / manufacturer: Raleigh
model name / number: Superbe

Awesome 1970's Raleigh Superbe in great condition. Recently tuned with well fucntioning Sturmey Archer Three Speed, new tires, new cables, new handlebar wrap. Everything works really well, and the ride is smooth. Paint is a really nice metallic sort of carmel coffee color, with only a few scratches from regular use. Good Brooks saddle if only with some age on it. Original splash guards from and back, and I have the kick stand if you want it.

I think the frame is 54; I am around 5' 10" and ride it comfortably.

Honestly, I really like this bike. It's perfect for getting around town and is a smooth ride for longer trips. It's just not the right one for me, so I am selling it to raise funds for one that suits me better.

Please email with any questions, and thanks!

^ that is a sports, not superbe. says on the down tube and it is missing everything (locking fork, luggage rack, dynohub, lights, etc) that would otherwise make it a superbe.

Noa bad bike but pricey at $300.

Right the brifters were a later upgrade. I thought these were all recalled but maybe not

You know I was just telling a friend of mine it would be awesome to have a Western Flyer tricked out with Dr. Seuss wheels.

Note the rear brake bosses.

The seat post size listed seems odd.
