5'9" riders on 54cm frames?
Are there any 5'9" riders on 54cm frames?
I've come across a 54cm bike that I want to get.
Is 54cm workable? I'm 5'9" with a 32 inseam.
(play with stem lengths, saddle set back, seat post height, etc...?)
Thanks for any info.

I'm 5'9" with a 31" inseam and I'm riding a 54cm Jamis Xenith SL and a 51cm (54cm TT) BMC SLC01. 110mm stems on both.

I'm 5'8" with a 32.6" inseam and ride a 54 x 54.5 with 110 stem and a 55 x 54.5 with 120 stem (different geometry and bars).

I'm 5'9 and ride a 54cm. While I don't know my cycling inseam, I would have been better off getting one size smaller. I'd imagine I could solve the problem with a zero setback seatpost and a shorter stem.

54cm road frame with 110mm stem and a 54cm TT frame with a 90mm stem both seem to work for me. I'm 5'10'. I also have a 58cm with 120mm stem and a 56cm with an 80mm stem....so you know what... I really couldn't tell you. I'm a freak and all those configurations were comfortable enough for me for long times on the saddle.
Thats said my optimal fitting says 54cm... high seat... long stem in the 120mm range....

You really can't say x height rider should be on y size frame. There is just too much variation.
That said, I'm 5'9" ~ 5'10" on a 54cm Tarmac.

I'm 5'9" and thought there was no question I was to get a 56. My cross is a 54 and felt good too. Even better I think. Not sure on stem length though.

54 cm puts you in the right range but like umd says, there are no hard rules here and if you get a proper fitting should discover that there is a range of frames you can ride... for me it is 52-55 but what is most important is top tube and reach.
I'm 5'9 1/2 " and prefer a 55cm as I have a little longer leg (33) and need a little more reach but have a fg road bike that is a 52 with a 54 cm top tube which is also a very nice fit.

My last bike was a 56cm.
My current bike is a 56cm.
I'm very comfortable on both.
I'm going to go for the the 54cm.
I'll play with it and adjust it as necessary.
It's going to be a commuter/short distance bike.
Nothing over 10 miles at a time.
I just want to put together for the streets of New York City.
Something like a Roadie version of an Urban Assault bike.
25+ tires, SPD/Flat pedal combo...something that'll take a beating.

Tyres are 26 by 2.1 and just dropped an 8 speed block in to give me a wider range for riding the road and trails and it only weighs a little more than my road bike and fg.

5'9.5"
32" inseam
size 45 shoe
spindle to saddle top is 75cm
I ride a 55 with a 550mm top tube and a 130mm stem. I could switch to a 120mm in the future. Track bike though. Setup for mostly road riding.

I'm 5'9" and I've almost always ridden a 54. I have ridden a 52 with a long stem and long seatpost. the thing is that not all 54s have the same toptube and that is the key. depending on the toptube, I have used stems ranging from 100 to 130. for a city bike, you might also want a sloping toptube...great for quick mounts and dismounts! good luck!

5' 11" with 33" inseam, 43 shoe. I have two 55 x 55's with differing geometries. One stem is 100 (relaxed) and the other is 110 (more aggressive). I'd like to try a 54 since my saddle seems to always be so far forward.
