Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes, tried multiple brands of dry and wet food, partly because of his preference but also to keep his digestive system happy. The neglected neighbor cat I have been feeding is happy to help me dispose of the food my cat won't eat.

The other day, when I got home from a ride and stopped recording on my Garmin, apparently I turned it on again, before turning it off again a very short time later.

Hot Chocolate rest stop
While up at my parents I took dad's recumbent for a nice ride. Had to stop here and sample the chocolate. It was good.

My legs have been screaming at me this time home. I havnt don’t anything differently, and I am even riding less miles than before I moved but they won’t stop complaining. Today’s ride I purposely took it slow and just focused on spinning, 20 miles in I felt like I had ridden 60 miles. I ended up dialing up to get over this mound on monticello, and just kept it dialed up the rest of the way home. Felt good with the extra effort, but even now I am still feeling it.

What I'm getting at is are two drugs such as Humira and Enbrel sufficiently different that the immune system responds to the second as if it had never seen an anti-TNF drug before? Or do the anti-bodies that someone develops for the first drug, which linger in the immune system memory, make it easier for someone to develop anti-bodies for the second?

The same thing happens with vodka. Drink enough of that ****, you can pound gin down too, even though it's a completely different day.

The part of Humira and the part of Enbrel that bind to TNF are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. So, not likely that antibodies against one will crossreact with the other. Is your loss of effect from these because of anti-drug antibodies?

I do not find this to be a illuminating comparison.

That's my simplified lay mouse understanding of what I've read on why biologics lose their effectiveness over time. Whatever the exact physiological process, after X months, the joint inflammation gets increasingly worse to the point we decide it's time to try something else. (I took a couple of them that didn't help at all).

The Brown Squirrel parking lot is too small. I'd go to the office park, ~2 miles to the northwest, for TT activities. It's about 1.2 miles per "loop."
