Mixed terrain 4 day tour on the '86 High Sierra. The Panaracer Swift Ripp Johnson tires were slight overkill on the paved parts but perfect for the rocky, muddy ATV trails and double track we hit. The Deerhead drivetrain was flawless and the Suntour roller cams were rock solid.

Thanks! Both Specialized-branded, made by Nitto. Probably OEM on a mid-80s Stumpjumper. Not a lot of companies made these ATB riser bars from aluminum instead of steel. The other nice thing is that these were before ATB handlebars got to be super narrow, so they are actually pretty wide. So I grab em whenever I can (I have 2).

1988 GT Avalanche mtb
I found this gem at a thrift store for $30 on half off day-- took it home for $15. I found out it retailed for $2600 in 1988. It seems to be pretty rare. All white everything. If anyone's interested I'm needing $$ for a move soon.
It looks like it has original seat, wheels, tires and brake pads, components maybe even the Cat Eye computer? I thought I saw it in one of these magazine ads from it's day. The first year for the triple GT triangle and the only year GT Power Series cranks were stock. It's still tuned and it's really sweet to ride. I might talk my sister into keeping it in her garage so I can hang onto it....

Wide bars all day! I've been keeping an eye out for a set to "upgrade" one of my bullmoose Stumpjumpers.

I see your Specialized Rockhopper Comp and I raise you a 1992 Specialized Rockhopper Comp in the same color scheme!! This is my brother's bike that I tuned up for him. He found it at a yard sale. It came with the RockShox forks, newer Continental X King tires, and bike computer. We re-greased everything, added new cables, grips, tire tube, and saddle. She's a beauty! My brother says this one's a keeper.

92 or 93 Kona Explosif
I picked this Kona Explosif up at a thrift store for $60. The rear rim was worn through, front wheel was a cheapo replacement, front derailleur cage was broken off, and the rear derailleur, cassette and chainrings were caked in a thick layer of solidified dirty grease. That aside, it had all it's original bits and no damage, save for scratches and surface rust.
I replaced the wheels with a set of XT hubs laced to Mavic XM-117 rims with dt Swiss competition spokes. Put on a pair of Kenda Small Block tires. Replaced the color matched, but rough looking bars with an Origin 8 5° sweep bar and green Oury grips. Otherwise only needed grease and new cables and housing.
I feel like this bike demands to be thrashed around on.

Overhauled the FW this morning and when I get new cables, longer seat post, and some high end tires, this will be even sweeter.

My new to me 85 GT Timberline. My wife wanted to go to a thrift store and I wasn't really wanting to but ended up with this sweet ride for less then a dinner out

Took it apart, then added some modern cranks, saddle, and tires to get this 92 Comp set up for commuting on streets and trails.
Rides very very smooth and fast.

1991 Schwinn PDG 90. Finished cleaning, living and rebuilding it this past week. The Suntour XC Pro Grease Guard is great. I hope whoever buys it enjoys it.

I picked up this 1991 Fuji Sundance recently. Once I washed off all the dust, I was surprised how clean and original this bike still is. By far the best condition used bike I have purchased, with the peeling stickers being the only damage. I really like the blue with silver splatter, plus it's my size.
The photo is as purchased and will be overhauled after I finish another in line. The only replacement component was the rear brake being Dia-Compe 986 vs the stock DX in the front. I own an extra set of each so not sure which direction I'll go for this bike. Any suggestions?
The front wheel warning sticker on the down tube has already been removed as it detracted from the paint.

This just arrived last week from the Bay of e. 1995, largely original, with 1.5" road slicks. Replaced the original shortie handlebar and grips, the saddle, front brake pads, and the tires. I need to Evaporust the inside, replace the crankset with one with shorter cranks, new pedals, find some mtb. add-on fenders and a second water bottle cage. Also, can anyone tell me what that odd plate is below the chainstay?
