Nah, you won't catch me b!+ching about the weather here, even when it's over 105F. I may mention it, but I'm still going to ride in it.

I'm just using the snow as an indication that it's not always summer in TX (since I live close to TX).

See, that's the thing about us people in Illinois, we'll ***** about the 105 degree weather as well. We pretty much ***** about anything except for the 4 weeks that it's 78.

Yup, I'll be there along with a few teammates in other categories. Judging by the field in the p/1/2 I'm probably going to get my ass kicked, but if nothing else it should be good training.

I've been using the cover for several years and it works great.

Yep, looks like Ben Day will be here again. Prize money really went up so that helps. I will be helping this yr. I tore my knees up, so I have been off of the bike for almost 2 months I will make sure to ring the cow bell for ya!!!

truth.

(at least Chicago clears their streets--can't speak for the burbs/exurbs. If one has a slop bike, no probelmo.)

Gotta love people who cherry pick a pic or three to try to "prove" something. Where is the context? The bottom one is David Millar sprinting to the finish, not in his usual position. I guarantee you Z and Levi don't spend very much time in with the head position in the pics you posted. Interestingly a google search of Levi and Z show those pics to be the only ones of the first 20 or so ITT pics of them with their heads down.

Actually Dave Z does use the head down position quite a bit, Levi also uses a very similar head position to esammuli with the tail of the helmet slightly up. The comment isn't whether the head down or up is fastest but that you don't know without testing and it is absolutely going to be a case by case scenario. Bottles on the bike are going to be faster with some guys, helmets will be faster or slower depending on body shape, etc. There are very few generalizations that hold true for all TT positions and all people.

God this place...LOL. When I said good position, I was refering to his overall fit on the bike. Sometimes you put your head down when powering down, sometimes you don't. I don't know what kind of TTers you guys are, but Eric is a pretty strong II from what I have seen, head up or down.

Geez, I'm popular all of a sudden. To clarify, the angle of that picture isn't very good. The tip is just a little higher than I'd like it but not by much. If you could see a side view, the tip of the helmet is only about an inch higher than the highest point on my back. With my head dipped like that my frontal area is lower than with my head up.

vs.

You have no idea. A mishap with my chain going up the very first hill had me spending the rest of the race working to overtake a handful of stragglers. I'm eager for a second race to see if I can stay in the pack barring another mechanical failure.
