It would be if I quit riding with my wife. The two collisions I have had on a bike, since I started back riding, were with her. I'm going to have to check and see if she's checked on my insurance policy lately.
I didn't get a change to get back on the bike until today. Did a solo ride around the neighborhood; 10 miles at an average of 13 mph on the hybrid. I had a several sprints of 16 mph on some of the straight roads and that felt good. I was real satisfied with today's ride considering I was still in a back brace until the 20th. A few more days on the hybrid and I'll be ready to try the road bike for some longer and faster rides.

Rode 23 miles today...3/4 of the way in the ride, I broke a spoke and the tire went out of true. Last quarter of the ride fighting the brake home.
Took the rear wheel to the LBS and they said it wouldn't be a problem to get to it right away and pick up in the early afternoon. Now I don't have to miss my ride tomorrow.

First day back on the bike after a bad cold that just wouldn't let go. Great to be ridding again even if I took it easy this time out. https://app.strava.com/rides/2980361

I did my "standard" 24 mi ride on the Schuylkill River Trail near Valley Forge Nat'l Park. It was so warm (low-to-mid 40's) that I did not have to wear my shell--just a thermal base layer and a long-sleeve jersey. I just started riding in April of this year, and in my wildest dreams I never thought I would be riding this comfortably on December 31st. I guess you could call this the "up-side" to global warming.

14 "junk" miles. It still felt cold, even though it was in the 40's.

I rode 33 miles today, with a stop for coffee at a cycling friends home. I put my hardcase pannier on the sports/touring bike and provided a large Italian Pannettone as a gift, it was fun cycling around with items on board. After the chat, I completed the ride at a touring pace.

20 miles on country roads with doctor j, under clouds and a light cool breeze, but very reasonable temps. In the spirit of 'pictures or it didn't happen', here's the only snapshot I took (which hardly qualifies as a picture, since it was just a test shot as I was trying to get my cellphone camera re-configured after a recent upgrade) --
...and no, he wasn't running off the road but rather just pulling over.

I did another 6 mile ride with the wife today in the neighborhood. We were shooting for 10 but I started getting a slight twitch in my lower back so I decided to call it quits. I didn't want to aggravate the back any more that what it has been over the last month. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
Everyone have a safe and Happy New Years. I'm taking the wife out for crab legs.

67 miles on a group ride from Canberra to Collector and back, chiefly on the Federal Highway. It was a glorious New Years morning and the ride would have been near about perfect, except for the blowout. A rock ripped through the sidewall of my BRAND NEW Conti GP4000s (I mounted the tire on Friday, for chrissake) with extensive damage. Fortunately the tire boot held (thank you, Parktool!)
and I made it back safely. Not sure what I would have done otherwise - we were 30 miles from town and I had nobody to back me up with a car.....

My friend Roy trying to pass 12,000 mi for the year had a flat from glass.
He ended the year with 11,995.5 miles.
Fog to start with.

53 miles around South Mt yesterday to finish the year with just a tad under 3,000 miles. I have to take my wife up to Cottonwood AZ today but I'll get in a short ride tomorrow when I get back home.

Started off the year with a (relative) bang - my first real climb on the new bike. 25+ miles, 2700' of climbing. Love those disc brakes. If you're wondering why the very slow downhill speeds - dead end ranch road in really, really bad condition. This was also my first climb with a compact crank giving me 34-32 gearing. Only had to stand when the grade got over 11-12%.

Did my standard 24 mi ride on the Schuylkill River Trail near Valley Forge Nat'l Park in Pa. I am just amazed at the string of wonderful cycling weather we've enjoyed this fall (and now winter) here is Southeast Pa. A very nice start to the new cycling year.

Managed to fit in a quick 12 miles this afternoon. I didn't think I'd get to ride at all today. Traditionally on New Year's Day, for about the last 20 years, we do a "soup day." The wife makes New England Clam Chowder, Corn Chowder, Chili Soup, Broccoli & Cheese, and, for the certain kids, a Creamy Cheesy Chicken Soup. Well, the festivities broke up in the mid-afternoon and it was so gorgeous out, ~64°F and sunny, I got in my biking gear and set out on a quick trek. Usually I do 23 miles, but only managed to fit in 12. I didn't want to get caught out when it was getting dusk and cooler(wasn't dressed for cooler temps). I'm just pumped that I got any in as I figured I wouldn't get any ride in today.

My sweetie and I got today for 39.5 miles on the tandem. It was scary warm for New Year's Day in New England, but a good day for riding.

Fifteen miles with the wife at the MUP on the road bike. First time on the Defy since my crash in November. Felt terrific and no back pain after the ride. Weatherman says it's going to rain tomorrow but if it doesn't, I'll be back for another 15 or 20 mile ride. Hoping to get back to my daily 30 milers by the end of next week.

Eleven very windy New Year's miles.
Headwinds are more tolerable on my recumbent and tailwinds are always nice.

Wow. I've never seen a saddle like that... looks kinda like something from "Alien".
It looks like it would be easy to slide off to the front, but I assume not? How did it work out?
What a bummer. Too bad he couldn't ride around his neighborhood a few times to get those last 4.5 miles...
