It's been a while.
It's been a long time since I've been on bikeforums. My bike hasn't changed.

I got a new-to-me 1992 Trek 720 a couple weeks ago. This is Bike 2.0 for me; Bike 1.0 was a $50 BSO off Craigslist to see if I still liked riding, and well, yes I do. Shopped for something steel for about six months and picked this one up. I still need to replace the stem with a threadless adapter and add about three inches of reach to it for fit.

I'm always amazed when I see a bike that is a couple of years old and it still has the factory warning labels, frame size etc decals still on it. I would think that would be the first thing everyone takes off. The things you mentioned above I just consider "no-brainers".

the things i've mentioned i've removed on all of my bikes that i've ever owned including my 2 current fx's and my emonda. keeping the warning labels on your bike is like keeping the window sticker on your new car hahahahaha

I have the same problem with car license plate frames. First of all they're ugly and second, why do you want to drive around all day advertising for the place you bought the car from? To this day, if someone starts talking about their car as if they're really into it and I see a license plate frame on their car I immediately discount anything they're saying about the car. My first thought is that they really don't care how their car looks.

@andrei_r, I'm not sure yet, this is my first time trying a custom fit. I just ride my last bike as it came, which is mostly OK, maybe a little short in reach depending on how I'm sitting. The Trek is 1.25 inches shorter in the frame (by virtual top tube length) and the Trek's stem is 1.5 inches shorter in reach, so I need to make up the difference and add some.
The first time I rode the Trek I popped a little unintentional wheelie just getting out of the driveway, so I need to work on balancing my weight. I'll see whether I need any seatpost setback then start extending the stem.
The Trek is a 21 inch frame size. There was a larger frame size made but its standover would have been too tall and would only have gained me an additional 0.4 inches of virtual top tube (according to the 1994 catalog; the 1992 catalog didn't have measurements listed for this bike).
