'82 Basso Gap build
It's getting there... slowly. Wheelset was on my previous Basso. Figured I'd start with everything the same, save the frame, for comparison. Installed the headset and bottom bracket this afternoon.

Nice Basso. What’s the serial number under the BB shell? My frame looks just like yours. I figured it was a 1982, but Basso put it at 1980, so I’m curious as to your serial number. Thanks.

Thanks, but it really needs repainting. Serial number is 306019. It has the "old style" cable guides on top of the BB shell.

Thanks. My cable guides run on top as well. Cinelli BB shell. My serial is 2992-56, the 56 is stamped to the side. So the format is definitely different. I suspect my front derailleur braze-on was added when it was repainted.

Done, for the most part. I would have gone for a spin, but the rear tire flatted and I'm too tired to fix it today. Still needs the brakes and shifting dialed in.

Almost ready for the road, after tweaking the drivetrain today. Everything works great, just like I remember with this 600 group. The wheels will match for the road test, hopefully tomorrow. She'll also be sporting Look road pedals, not the dorky platforms in the pic.

Thanks. It's definitely a 10-footer though! I think it's going to be a nice rider, like the red one. Not sure I'm up for any hills. I've put in about 30 miles so far this year!

Evolution of the build, taken on the 15-mile shakedown ride today. Everything worked flawlessly, except the seat post, which slowly descended into the seat tube about a third of the way into the ride! Doh! I wondered why it was getting so hard to pedal. 
Glad I grabbed my multi-tool before heading out the door. The engine worked ok, but definitely needs a tune-up.
Parts of the ride reminded me of my first Basso, so I think I will really enjoy this bike long-term. Before I got the De Rosa, I would usually pick the Basso for my regular local rides. The gearing today did not quite match up for comparison, as I had to use a different wheelset, but I can say that a difference of three teeth on the small chainring is noticeable! The Basso's 600 cranks have the 52-42 combo, whereas I'm used to 52-39 on the De Rosa. Plus, there's the need for an engine tune-up.
Yes, that is a zip-tie attached at the first cable guide. The guide was somewhat flattened when I got it, and it literally crumbled(!) as I was attempting to raise it. I'll have it replaced if ever I repaint this baby. It's definitely a keeper.
