Great Waterfront Trail Adventure
I know that it's a long way off yet (July 4-11) but I know that some people have registered already. Is there anyone on here that has either registered yet or is thinking of participating. It was a fantastic tour last year and certainly promises to be even better this year.

But, with prevailing winds being from the West, the East-West GWTA risks being a little too much of a challenge.
Interesting nevertheless,
Ron

Hi Ron
The Erie Canal Ride is certainly on my list of "rides to do" - maybe next year. It's amazing how many of the major supported tours are all around the same dates. There are only so many weeks of good weather in the summer, I guess.

I rode solo much of the same route in late August this year with some changes. Ride started from my parents place in Burlington, ended six days and 725km later in Montreal, with a side trip to Sandbanks Provincial Park, bypassed Trenton and Belleville.

I've just signed on to do the GWTA in '09. I'm now working out the logistics of getting to NOTL and then, after the tour, getting from Cornwall back to Cobourg. I'll be riding my Catrike "Road", so arranging connecting transportation is a bit of a puzzle at the moment. However, lots of time to figure it out.

Hi Mike
You've just given me another reason to look forward to this years GWTA. I confess to a very great interest in bent trikes. See you in NOTL, for sure.
Doug
PS Hey Mike, please consider joining the GWTA group on mapmyride.com.

Thanks, Doug. Will check out mapmyride.com. A trike is not the easiest to transport as it doesn't breakdown and won't fit in a standard bike box. Since it's recumbent, the drive train is very long which further complicates moving it around. I think I've solved the start of the GWTA, arriving in Niagara on the Lake on the Friday July 3rd and leaving my van there for the week.
The return from Cornwall is a bit more challenging, but I have some ideas, and lots of time to work things out. Glad you have an interest in bent trikes; they're sweet. My wife and I ride a recumbent tandem, but she has something else going on at the time of the GWTA, so I'm riding solo.
