Thank you everyone for your Anniversary wishes.
And BobbyG, I understood what you meant ... your post brought a tear to my eye!
Mundane "normality" sounds great these days!
Hopefully we'll continue the adventure side of things in coming years, although it will be very toned down for a while as we ease into things again. Obviously, we weren't able to celebrate with a century as we have done in the past. But we did get a short Zwift ride in! One step at a time!!

Perhaps my attempt at humor didn't translate well over the internet and may have been inappropriate in any case. I was referring to Rowan's injury last year and the incredible and miraculous story that unfolded. I felt that Machka and Rowan's touring expertise possibly helped dealing with the unexpected logistical nightmare, and their undeniably loving bond and mutual devotion gave them the strength to face some of the worst uncertainties life can throw at you.
I suppose, reading Machka's candid updates gave me an overinflated sense of familarity with them, but I often fought back tears reading her posts. And I absolutely cried with joy reading Rowan's first post-injury post.
Slightly prior to Rowan's incident my wife and I dealt with sudden, serious, potentially life altering/life-ending medical emergencies involving two of our children and a grand child, which may also explain why I took Rowan and Machka's story to heart and prayed for the best outcome possible.
I meant no offense, and if I breached any sort of etiquette, I apologize. I simply meant that they had a tremendous, scary adventure they didn't ask for, and that they deserved a less challenging year.

But I was taken aback when my post that was meant to bring a ray of sunshine into their lives was treated the way it was. But from your clarification and her post all is now as it should be. Plus, it gives me a chance to again wish them Happy Anniversary.
Happy Anniversary! May you have many, many more!

Congratulations! Cool story.
The last time I rode with my wife, she had to rest twice in 3 miles. That was probably 1982. (We're still together; she's just not a cyclist.)

We've known each other 17 years.
We've been married 12 years.
We've lived together 11 years.
Happy Anniversary! ❤️
I describe our first two years of marriage as ...
It has been an interesting and challenging first two years of marriage!! Spending the first 9 months on different continents, the bushfire, living in a very rustic shed for a year, going through the immigration process, DVT, changing jobs, losing my bicycle, lots of travelling around Victoria and Tasmania
Now I'm adding ...
... and the next 10 have continued to be interesting and challenging!! Rarely a dull moment! ❤️

Congratulations!
I'm a bit confused, though ... you actually got married before you started living together?

I was living in Canada and about to start the last year of my Bachelor of Education.
Rowan was living in Australia.
He came to Canada for a visit and we got married. 10 days later he returned to Australia and I finished my degree. Then I moved to Australia and have been here ever since!

Congrats and best wishes to the both of you! What a wonderful place to renew your vows. Alberta is home to some of the most picturesque settings and the Jasper area is no exception. Naturally I’m a bit biased.
My wife and I are coming up on our 30th anniversary at the end of September and we will be celebrating that special day in Kananaskis Country, the place where we met.

Happy anniversary to all here.
We celebrated our 47th on June 23, and our elder son and daughter-in-law just reached their tenth. He has repurposed my old 1980 Peugeot PKN-10 for pulling the Burley trailer. Both of his boys can still squeeze in for now, and he is obviously very happy I did the triple chainring conversion while I had it.

Happy anniversary! Lost my bride of just short of 33 years about 18 months ago to cancer she battle for 10 years. Life is different and keep going it is a blessing. These days a celibate by vocation in the Church but would be even if that were not the case. Nothing can compare when you find the right one!
